Speaker and writer Michelle >Borquez knows how it feels to be controlled by your emotions. As a young woman she struggled with the same issues many other women face--being overwhelmed with fear, driven by jealousy, or shamed by guilt. Strong emotions--the ones we all deal with--can lead to "deadly" results when they are not controlled by the Holy Spirit.
But Michelle also learned how God can use the emotions He gave us to help us live the way He intended--in peace, joy, and freedom. With extensive research, biblical study, and personal interviews, Borquez shares with readers how to:
- Surrender their emotions to God and allow Him to redeem them
- Embrace God's plan for positive emotional living
- Find new and healthy ways to deal with previously damaged relationships
Here is a practical and biblical guide to handling emotions and discovering God's power and help to live victoriously.

Amydeanne5 Stars Out Of 5May 8, 2009AmydeanneThis book is about learning to take control of your emotions before they control you. It is learning how to respond to situations and people and how to glorify God through emotions.Michelle states right at the beginning of her book this isnt a self-help book or one for the severely depressed. It is a book focused on spiritual growth.Chapter 1- The thing I loved in this chapter was where she said: God cant use or direct someone who is always hiding from life or from the possible next step. This really hit me. If Im not out there God cant use me.I like that Michelle really stresses Gods word in this book. She talks about how we can overcome these emotions and the counterfeit experiences our emotions cause us by being with Christ and his word.In Chapter two, Michelle holds no bars when she digs right into what we need to do to deal with our emotions. She sets out a list of questions and methods we might have used to deal with our emotions and how to do it Gods way. One of the strongest and greatest quotes she wrote was this: The enemy wants you to keep blaming him for all your problems because it means youll never start growing. So, chapter 3- The Face of Fear. I love how Michelle lists some of the lies that we have heard/tell ourselves with fear and gives us godly responses and what Gods word says about dealing with them. She lists 7 of them. I think most will be surprised at this list and quite honestly it was great to know Im not alone with those fears!I think regardless of where you are, the spiritual growth youll experience reading and putting some of these ideas into practice will strengthen and re-affirm your relationship with Christ. I find Michelles writing challenging, and her use of scripture refreshing.I know I barely covered any of the chapters, but I hope that gives you a good feel of what this book is about.
