Christian women have allowed shame to condemn and confine them for far too long. If you’re ready to turn things around, Aubrey Sampson—a pastor’s wife, and an advocate for at-risk women—invites you to become an unashamed woman.
Written with a strong biblical theology and humorous authenticity, as well as true-life stories, Sampson equips readers with tools for an ongoing spiritual discipline of "shamelessness." She deals directly with the shame that comes from comical moments in life, as well as from sexual abuse, eating disorders, addiction, abandonment, and other real-life issues. She also encourages women to transform their life’s story into ministry, creating ripple effects of hope and healing that can change the world.
Written for any woman whose self-worth has been stolen, Overcomer will give you the courage, in Jesus, to reclaim it.

Sampson shares some painful memories and takes you on a journey with her toward healing and restoration. I love that she is authentic, vulnerable (so inspiring!) and hilariously funny (check out her "an open letter to the latest media darling who lost all her baby weight at warp speed on pp.44-45!)! I appreciate the practical tools (the chart on pg. 65 is powerful!) along with the biblical truths she teaches. There are incredible quotes, discussion questions after every chapter, a prayer and an inspirational story which makes this a great candidate for your next book club or women's bible study!

And all of these things were 100% true with Overcomer. Aubrey is so relateable that her message speaks powerfully - more like meeting a friend for coffee than anything else. If you struggle with shame, I recommend this book very highly.
