Unrealistic expectations. Hurt feelings. False guilt. As we go about our daily lives, we are so often mired down in all kinds of joy-robbing thought patterns and unhealthy habits. But grounded in God's Word, we can move on, set free from these burdens. Through more than 25 years of ministry, author Mary Whelchel has developed insightful wisdom for leading women to experience the true freedom of following Christ.
"Mary Whelchel draws from her own journey with God and her years of ministry to shepherd readers to the place of letting go of burdens we weren't meant to carry and courageously moving forward with God."
"Read this book and then pass it along to others who need to quit wallowing in their past-no matter how terrible it might be-and unload the baggage they have carried far too long."
"With its biblical foundation, personal illustration, and practical application, Get Over It! has what it takes to help you let go and move on with God."
"She combines that practical "How to" that is her trademark, with fresh, biblical insights that are both inspiring and empowering. Thank you, Mary, for this much-needed book!"
"I wish that book was available when I became a Christian as it would have really challenged me to move forward and grow in Jesus."
"Easily accessible and written with warmth, its practical biblical wisdom will both challenge and comfort those who are struggling with emotional baggage and difficulties, yet long to mature as Christians."
In Get Over It, Mary Whelchel shows women, in very practical ways, how to live free from dangerous mindsets that are so easily entangling. Mary gives women a gentle, yet powerful biblical approach to handling offenses, while continuing to walking in love, and total forgiveness. Get Over It is a much needed book in our culture today. Get Over It can serve as a powerfully resource for all women, church leaders, teachers, students, and all who consider themselves worshipers of the Living God.
With the candor of a faithful friend, Mary Whelchel encourages us to get over our petty fears, attitudes and anxieties that prevent us from living freely and becoming all that God intends for us to be. Drawing on years of ministry experience, Whelchel provides practical advice and wisdom to fight our tendency to hold onto slights, guilt and unrealistic expectations. Time and again she points us to the truth of Scripture, exposing the fault lines in our thinking and reminding us that we are called to trust God in every area of our life.

Are you the kind of person that has a hard time letting things go? Things like hurt feelings, wrong attitudes, or that oh-so-recognizable five-letter-word, "guilt"? Having a bit of trouble getting yourself out of the box you're in? Do you find that your expectations are often unmet?
If you answered yes to one or more of the above, then this book will help you to "just get over it!" and move on with God.
Mary includes Biblical Scripture, lots of examples, and hands-on steps to help you "get over" whatever it is that is keeping you from experiencing a spirit set free to enjoy the good life God has planned for you.
True to Mary's unique style, and with a bit of wry humor thrown in for goood measure, this book is written for everyone to easily understand and apply. This book is great for Book Clubs or Bible Study groups. Our Book Club read a chapter or two each week and proceeded in an open discussion - bible study format once a week for 10-weeks. This study format worked well for a group.
In Chapter 8, I especially liked Mary's seven signs to know whether the passion you have for a new endeavor is from God. The most surprising sign is Mary's #7: You probably won't be qualified to do it! It sounds like a high-school yearbook phrase, but what a relief to know that God uses the one most unlikely to succeed! To God be the glory.
Now, you just have to get this book and "Get Over it!"
