In a world with so many religions, why Jesus?
We are living in a time when you can believe anything, as long as you do not claim it to be true. In the name of tolerance, our postmodern culture embraces everything from Eastern mysticism to New Age spirituality. But as Ravi Zacharias points out, such unquestioning acceptance of all things spiritual is absurd. All religions, plainly and simply, cannot be true.
Jesus Among Other Gods provides the answers to the most fundamental claims about Christianity, such as:
- Arent all religions fundamentally the same?
- Was Jesus who He claimed to be?
- Can one study the life of Christ and demonstrate conclusively that He was and is the way, the truth, and the life?
In each chapter, Zacharias considers a unique claim that Jesus made and then contrasts the truth of Jesus with the founders of Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism with compelling insight and passionate conviction. In addition to an impressive breadth of reading and study, he shares his personal journey from despair and meaninglessness to his discovery that Jesus is who He said He is.
In Jesus Among Other Gods, Ravi Zacharias demonstrates that he is one of the most intellectually gifted as well as spiritually sensitive writers of todays leading apologists for the Christian faith. Zacharias brings alive the unique power of the claims of Jesus about himself and the utter relevance of his message today for the human condition.

Lynne Schwank5 Stars Out Of 5Highly recommendAugust 29, 2017Lynne SchwankQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I'm a Christian reading this. My sons were 'raised' in the church, but now in their 20's have been enticed by eastern thought & spirituality...asking WHY just JESUS? They've walked away from God and are following their 'flesh' and our American culture. I'm buying this book for them. Ravi does not just give 'classic" answers...he makes you think and reason with sound debates & knowledge of other cultures. As a heart is open and a soul "thirsty" for TRUTH....God and Jesus are revealed in this book.
rkendo5 Stars Out Of 5Jesus Among Other GodsAugust 25, 2017rkendoQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I have lived as a missionary many years outside of the US. Reading some reviews I can't help but cringe at American ethnocentricity cutting and editing Ravi's excellent book. While this book is written to all, it is especially significant to the reader enculturated in eastern thought. As an American this book may not appear to flow in a meaningful way ... however ... my daughter-in-law, born and raised in China found this book to be tremendously helpful to her. Ravi reached inside her Chinese Eastern manner of thought and explained in a meaningful way to her the True Difference of Christ over other gods. Her faith in Christ and confidence in God's Word was strengthened. She is hoping to find the book in Manderin to send to her family.
I hope my review helps and opens the eyes of those who naturally assume that all people groups think as we do. This is an excellent book and I would encourage you to recommend it to those who are of Oriental or "Eastern" (as we Americans see the world) culture and influence. Thank you Ravi for reaching into my family!
Teutonic Warrior2 Stars Out Of 5What was that about?August 20, 2017Teutonic WarriorQuality: 4Value: 3Meets Expectations: 1Before I give my opinion of the book, let me say I have a high opinion of Dr. Zacharias. This review is not meant to be a slur to him. That said, the book is very disappointing. It lacks a coherent structure, and I'm not sure I know what the author was trying to say. Individual parts are okay, such as his testimony, but I failed to see how one point had any relevance to the others. And that's not all. The back cover had a misprint on it. I can overlook a single mistake in the text, but on the back cover! Overall I was disappointed.
