Author/Artist Review

Author: Mary DeMuth

Tell us a little about yourself.  I'm a stay at home mom of three children, now relocated to Southern France with my church- planting husband. I've been writing for over twelve years, laboring in obscurity most of the time. I love to cook and garden. I am passionate about worshipping Jesus musically. I absolutely love writing and am always working at honing the craft of writing.

What was your motivation behind this project?  To create a book that used the avenue of motherhood to help moms see their need for Jesus.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I grew weary of books for women, particularly devotional books, that seemed more fluffy than substantive. I'm an Oswald Chambers fan. I visit him almost daily, gleaning something deep that touches my heart. My desire for this book for moms was to write in such a way that touches the deepest part of a woman's heart--piercing words that change lives.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  Oswald, of course, Randy Alcorn, Harper Lee, John Piper, Henry Cloud, Leif Enger, Roy Hession.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  I am just an ordinary mom like the rest of you. I fail. I make mistakes. I have regrets. But I am comforted in knowing an extraordinary God lives within me. It's for His renown that I write.
