provides a superb road map for raising teenage children...[and] experiencing with them the challenges, victories, and joys of our journey to maturity in Christ.
optimistic, positive, biblical. . . . In a world that has made an industry out of dysfunction, it is refreshing to read a book that assumes that God. . . has made ample preparation for parents and teenagers to succeed.

Very helpful advice. Makes parents look at themselves first and then look at their teen through different eyes. I'm learning a lot.

J Johnson5 Stars Out Of 5January 15, 2010J JohnsonAge of Opportunity is an excellent resource for anyone wishing to raise children in the atmosphere and environment of a "redemptive community" (i.e., with the same kind of balanced love, grace, mercy, and discipline that God uses with us). The author does a great job applying biblical principle over psychological theory. Once more, the emphasis on raising a spiritually healthy child over and above a mentally or emotionally healthy child (equating the child's spiritual health to all the above) is refreshing. Of-course, as with any book on this topic, you must read Age of Opportunity with a certain amount of biblical discernment. However, the overwhelming amount of biblically practical, applicable and useful information far outweighs the few spots that may leave you guessing. Overall, a great asset to your library and a wonderful addition to your teen-rearing resources!
