Julie GravesOklahomaAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5act of treasonDecember 1, 2014Julie GravesOklahomaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleThe final book in Season 1! We get some answers to what happened to the Zulu team in Misrata and who set them up. But before that there is a lot of misguidance and the team seems to be falling apart from within. The ending brings some closure, but also leads into hopefully the next season where we can find out more about what happened during the 2 hours that T'eya disappeared with The Turk. What happens with Annie and her relationship with Trace and Sam. And how the new Zulu team will work together. I'm looking forward to it!
My overall opinion of this series of course is 5 hearts. I enjoyed every heart-stopping moment. I can't decide though if I am a fan of the serial or if I would prefer it all in one or more books. Thankfully this serial came out every Friday for 4 weeks so there wasn't a lot of waiting around for the next installment, which is a major plus when you are left hanging! There is a lot of action in this serial, a lot of emotions, and a lot of kick-butt females! There is deception and betrayal and romance as well. If you like suspense, romance and military-type stories then definitely pick this serial up, after all, it is all out now so no waiting for you!
ExuciaAtlanta, GAAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great Read!November 20, 2014ExuciaAtlanta, GAAge: 35-44Gender: femaleThe book was exciting with lots of plot twists. It was like watching a mini-series on TV in your mind :-). The characters got on my nerves a lot so I would stop reading for a time. I want them to make the right decisions but, then I think, that is probably what would actually happen in real life, so I start reading again LOL!
SusanPMichiganAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5All time favorite series!August 27, 2014SusanPMichiganAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5It all comes to a head in this last episode! Such fantastic, emotion-pulling, explosive writing brings this story to its end. We see the pieces slam into place with many dangerous, and sometimes fatal, situations. Annie makes her choice, Teya deals with the repercussions of having the Turk in her shadow, Nualas feelings get blown into the open and the shocking ending for them all makes this a 5 star finale to a gripping series! Ronie is talented at throwing great plot twists into her stories. The danger and intrigue chock full of military secrets and lies will keep you guessing until the very end as to who was behind the whole mess.
I cant say enough good about this series and the author! This is now one of my top of the list go-to for stories to read again.
homesteadingHampton Roads -- VAAge: 45-54Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Can't wait for Season Two!!!August 22, 2014homesteadingHampton Roads -- VAAge: 45-54Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Shock and awe doesnt begin to describe the inner workings of Team ZULU and their betrayer. With expert writing skill and some surprising plot twists, Kendig brings full circle this amazingly fast-paced military thriller. Reading this serialization has been like watching a season of 24. I was totally blind-sided by the traitor in the midst. I did not see that one coming.
Im fond of all the characters, especially Trace and Annie (love the interaction between them) but another stands out to me. It seems crazy to be enchanted by a character who is supposed to be an enemy, but I am. The Turk is one beguiling assassin. We dont know much about him except he and Tya have been in several violent altercations with each other and now he is a potential love interest! Im intrigued :)
I highly recommend this series to fans of intense contemporary military fiction. Im anxiously awaiting Season Two, the new missions that ZULU will be sent on, and thinking this really should be made into a TV series. Its that good.
I was provided a copy from the publisher for review purposes. I am under no obligation to write a positive review, just my honest opinion of the book. No compensation has been received.
BookLoverGender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Is this the end for Team Zulu? 4.5 starsAugust 19, 2014BookLoverGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5Its over! This is the last episode of season 1 of Operation Zulu Redemption (personally, Im hoping for another season) and it went way too fast for my tastes! As in the previous ones, I was hooked from page one til the very end! The stakes are higher than ever and the suspense is on steroids or something, I think. I felt like I couldnt catch my breath! As soon as one fiasco would pass, another would follow right on its heels! I actually kind of thought that this episode would be a little less suspenseful, because it is the final part and things should be winding down - I was so wrong! I think Im going to have to read the whole series over again, so I can better keep up with all that was going on.
As always, the descriptions and detail was excellent, as was Ronies writing. I love how she can make it feel as though you are actually there, but somehow not overwhelm the story with tedious details.
Ronie has a special talent for creating characters that draw you into their story and lives, and make you miss them when you turn the last page. I fell in love with all the characters (well, except for the villain, of course), even the ones that annoyed me a bit, at first. I just wasnt ready to say goodbye to them, yet. I feel like I lost a friend, or something.
As per the other episodes, there were surprises galore and I did not even see the ending coming! I was as shocked as the characters who the masterminds were! Which kind of ticked me off a little bit, because I felt almost as deceived as the team. I generally try not to review based on emotion, but I cant help it in this case. I was so attached to the characters and so invested in what was happening. The only reason this book is missing a half star is because I was seriously ticked off at the ending! It felt abrupt, like ripping off a bandage. Looking back now, after having thought about it for a few hours, everything that needed to be said, was said. No, it wasnt as long and drawn out as I would have liked, and no, we dont get a complete picture of what happened to them after the fact, but sometimes thats okay too. Who knows, I may have been more disappointed had Ronie done that and I didnt like where she took it.
I highly recommend this episode and the whole series if you love military suspense that keeps you guessing!
I received a free download of this book from the publisher for my honest review, which I have given. I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.
