Jolo5 Stars Out Of 5WITH MY EYES WIDE OPENNovember 11, 2019JoloQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5It is a different type biography, but it may reach some people who enjoy hard rock music, and who also need the Lord. This man and his daughter have had a tough life because his music has kept him (and his daughter sometimes) on the road often.

BookGal5 Stars Out Of 5Beautiful JourneyNovember 30, 2016BookGalQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I usually do not ready biographies. But, this one peaked my interest because it was "Head". I was a huge fan of rock back in my highschool days. Not so much any more. Granted I listened to Christian Rock and not secular but Brian put out some great Christian music when he did enter the scene. You can check one of his songs out here . I'll warn you, it is not Christian rock that you hear on the radio. If you don't like Korn's style of rock you won't like Brian's, but if you do go have yourself a listen.
His book was a great read about his own journey after he became a Christian. I loved that he was so honest with his struggles with family and drinking afterward. The struggles do not instantly vanish the minute you hand your life over to Christ. I loved reading about his relationship with his daughter and those heartaches and the "beauty from the ashes" moment when she was a teen. I'm really hoping she writes a biography *fingers crossed*. Brian did a great job at incorporating so much biblical truth into his journey. He had many Christians who loved him and wanted to see him get out of his pit. They spoke wisdom into his life, sometimes it was hard for Brian to hear but it was just what he needed when He needed it.
I am still interested in following his journey as he tours with Korn. From the outside I question why he went back, even though he explains it in this book. I know he was following what God has called him to do. You can tell by the many people he is able to speak truth to. It's quite incredible the ministry he has now!
If your looking for a great biography to read pick this one.

Rachel4 Stars Out Of 5Good ReadJuly 18, 2016RachelQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4I enjoy reading. I really enjoy reading that gives me the opportunity to step into somebody elses shoes and try to look at life from their perspective. I didn't really know much about the band KoЯn prior to requesting this book. I was intrigued by part of the overview that talked about his struggles with a teen lost in depression. Being somebody who struggles with depression, I was curious. I enjoyed reading the book. Brian "Head" Welch from the band KoЯn has had his own run with depression. I like how this book clearly shows us that nobody is immune from making mistakes but that everybody can find forgiveness. Brian had his fair share of difficulty, some from the choices he made, and some from the devil trying to get him off track. I know the book was mostly about Brian and its his comeback story, personally I am wondering if his daughter Jennea has any plans on writing a book. That is one I would definitely want to read. Jennea ended up going to a girls boarding school for a time while she became more self confident and stronger as she fought back against depression. I would love to hear more of her story. I like how the book ended, more like a to be continued because really Brian just brought us up to where he was as of publishing it. I like that it included a letter from Jennea at the end of the book. I would recommend this book to somebody who likes to get an inside picture of people they look up to or to somebody who is a die hard KoЯn fan. Ultimately it is a story of redemption, for the individual and for the band.
