For millennia people have been singing, reading, praying and meditating on the Psalms. They have rejoiced in them, repented through them, and found immense comfort in them. The Psalms are exquisite poetry, crisp theology, and stirring history, but they are also intensely personal. The Psalms mirror life as it really is, and then they take us to where we ought to be.
This devotional contains all 150 Psalms and 20 other songs in Scripture, divided into daily readings. Each reading includes helpful background information on the Psalm, a related hymn stanza and an uplifting application thought. Biweekly "interludes" further aid understanding by explaining features such as acrostic psalms or Hebrew poetic style.

The back ground provided by the author has added a significantly to my appreciation and understand of the psalms. The stories provided with each reading are equally interesting. I would highly recommend this book to others. The CD was a gift for a friend and they were very happy with the gift.
