Sarah5 Stars Out Of 5Great Early ReadersOctober 13, 2015SarahQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I am a mother to a 4 year old girl who was very excited upon receiving these. They are VERY basic readers but this gave my daughter the confidence she needed. She was so excited that she was able to read all these storybooks independently save for several new to her words. For a younger child this would a perfect way to introduce bible stories to them quickly in an engaging way. No, if you're looking for theologically deep these are not the books. They are not intended to be yet in some of the stories I admire the powerful simplicity of the message. The Good Shepherd story ends with the Shepherd has joy because He found his sheep. I thought that was profound in its simple delivery. I couldn't find anything that was particularly errant about their interpretation of the stories. The illustrations are also basic but attention grabbing for young readers and pre-readers. The carrying case is nice, but it is somewhat difficult to put the books back in neatly without bending pages, especially for little hands. Overall I think this is a wonderful price (currently ~$13) for biblical early readers. I'd highly recommend them.

Sanders is a darling collection of one sentence story books. The illustrations, bright and colorful, appeal to small children. In addition, the simple sentences encourage reading comprehension as well as vocabulary.
My younger sister Genesis really enjoyed these ten mini books. She'd flip through the pages and though she is past the reading level, she enjoyed the extra activities in the last few pages of each book. The Story booklets feature stories from the Old and New Testament including: The Sun and Moon, Two Mice and the Ark, Moses and the Bush, David and the Giant, The City Wall, The Star and the Kings, Jesus on the Water, The Good Shepherd, The Sad Son, & The Angel and the Cave. The first book beginning with creation and the last the resurrection of Christ.
I personally think that this idea, one sentence mini books, is a great idea for small children.
The set of ten books comes in a small light weight cardboard box featuring a Velcro tab. The fact that these 5.5"x7" readers can all be stored together minimizes loss. These take up very minimal space in the home and can easily be brought along when traveling.
Dr JSKAge: 45-54Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5book Review, One Sentence StorybookFebruary 3, 2015Dr JSKAge: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5One Sentence Storybooks, written by: Nancy Sanders, illustrated by: Hannah Wood, is a set of ten individual books that carry its readers through the progression of a single sentence in order to teach a simple story of the Bible.
These small powerful books, brought through the combined effort of Focus on the Family Resources and Tyndale House Publishers, are a unique way to introduce the Word of God to those who are at the cusp of their learning experiences.
This publication utilizes the simplicity of one sentence, the introduction of a few new words upon each page to create what ends up being a simple sentence, leaning towards the understanding or introduction of Biblical story.
The illustrations are wonderfully designed and filled with the ability to draw the attention of their target audience into the story, into the learning experience. The ten books are wonderfully presented in a sturdy display box that has also been prepared to catch the eyes and hearts of their intended audience, even as it sits upon a bookshelf or upon a desk waiting to be utilized.
This publication has a great amount of potential as a simplified Biblical introduction, thus it is a recommended purchase for the little ones in your life, the ones you are trying to expose to the Word of God.

Sanders and illustrated by Hannah Wood, is a set of ten small books intended to tell a simple Biblical message. The set is published by Tyndale and Focus on the Family. The titles include: The Sun and the Moon, Two Mice and the Ark, Moses and the Bush, David and the Giant, The City Wall, The Star and the Kings, Jesus on the Water, The Good Shepherd, The Sad Son, and The Angel and the Cave. Each book includes beginning vocabulary words, lovely illustrations, and a devotional activity for the parents and child to do together. Each is designed to provide both an educational and a faith-building experience for the readers.
These books are delightfully designed. While the case indicates that they are to be used with ages three through five, they seem more appropriate for ages two or three. I would recommend these books to any family. They would be wonderful for families focusing on faith from an early age.
I received this book free from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review.
