wfnrenSt Cloud, FLAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Definitely a must read!October 28, 2020wfnrenSt Cloud, FLAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5WOW, just WOW!! The prologue was intriguing, then the story began. I was confused for a short time but soon figured it out and the author pulled me in slowly, then a little faster, faster, and the last few chapters I could not put the book down until I finished it.
I have enjoyed Colleen Coble's books since I happened upon one several years ago and she has not disappointed me yet. This is a must read and I am anxiously waiting to read the second one in the series to see where things go from here. -

JH5 Stars Out Of 5A MUST READAugust 5, 2020JHQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book is an action packed adventure from the very beginning! The book is so wonderfully written that you can see it play out in your mind!
Jane is a fascinating character. From the beginning I was so intrigued by her. With coming out of a cult and then working up to becoming police chief it is just amazing! Her anxiety and fears are totally understandable considering her upbringing.
Reid is just about as kind as you can get. He keeps you guessing through the whole book!
I loved how the story kept you guessing, as soon as I thought I had it figured out I was wrong and it kept happening!
The fact that Jane is so confused about God is understandable, she was lied to in the cult and she doesn't know who to believe. Her dad definitely does not help!
I am so glad that there is another book for this because it sure did leave you hanging!!
I highly recommend this book! I love Colleen Coble!!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. -
PollymissouriAge: Over 65Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Beyond good!May 10, 2020PollymissouriAge: Over 65Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5One Little Lie has a lot of my favorite things going for it: A small town near Mobile, Alabama, a woman sheriff, a hidden past, murders to solve, a boy, a dog and the multi-layered writing of one of the best authors of Christian Romantic Suspense- Colleen Coble!
Jane is promoted to sheriff, a dream job, after her father suddenly retires But she has questions about why he did it so abruptly. Then she is faced with not one but two murders. And to complicate matters, a mandate by the mayor has her being shadowed by Reid Bechtol who is doing a documentary on women sheriffs in small towns.
This was an exceptional story with lots to keep you guessing about hidden motives. And although some things are resolved, there is plenty to build on for the rest of the series.
My favorite characters are teen, Will Bechtol and Parker, a Golden Retriever owned by Jane.
This realistic, intriguing story has me anxiously awaiting book 2 in the Pelican Harbor series. Definitely a five star read!
*I won this book in a monthly contest from Rissi at Finding Wonderland. All opinions are my own.*
