October Baby was a surprise to me because not only did it show the downside of what abortion is, but it showed the good side of the hearts of people. Very moving story and provides you with the love and forgiveness of the one who was aborted and their survival, the adoptive parents who took her as her own, and finally the forgiveness of the person who chose to abort for personal gain. America has lost her way by treating abortion as 'normal', when in fact it is killing a human who has no voice. Every life is precious, and God forgive us all for what we have allowed to happen in our nation. This movie gives you hope that change may be near. It is a message that needs to get out that shows the truth about abortion.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I purchased this movie. I knew that the focus would be abortion and having had one before I met Jesus, I was a little concerned about how it would affect me personally. It was wonderfully made, enlightening and thought provoking. Also definitely has a theme that is a deterrent to the practice and hopefully will impact somebody who might be contemplating this course of action. I would highly recommend this movie to all, especially teens and young adults.
My wife and I watched this one and in light of recent events we found it hard to deal with. The acting was okay but not especially great. The content was good and we would recommend this movie to others who are looking for a better perspective on abortion. The commentary with one of the actors is what we thought helped to solidify what this movie was about and brought the point home regarding forgiveness.
This is a drama that deals with abortion, adoption and the issues surrounding adoptees looking for their birth parents. Probably doesn't go far enough in dealing with the trauma all this can bring to everyone involved, but its a start. You would need a lot more time to go into this sort of dilemma, but maybe the book would be a better option. Good movie as far as it goes.
