Lizzy Bennet5 Stars Out Of 5Overcoming the NazisOctober 4, 2018Lizzy BennetQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Number The Stars. This was a wonderful story about how the Danish people saved the lives of their Jewish countrymen during WWII. It was told from the perspective of a young girl named Annemarie. The story is absolutely riveting and based on actual events. It gives young readers a great deal of insight into the time period. I read through it quickly and I gave it to my 11 year old son to read. I told him to read the first chapter, so that we could discuss it. He read the entire book in two days and would not put it down. It's even more inspiring when you read the afterword and find out how this book was based on many historical events.

Ames5 Stars Out Of 5great storyFebruary 27, 2026AmesQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Number the Stars was an enjoyable book and here are some reasons why. One reason why it was interesting is not knowing what happens next which makes this book a real page turner. Another reason the story is fascinating is Ellen hiding with Annemarie's family which introduces danger in the story. One other reason why its such a good story is Nazis tormenting Jews and while that's wrong, it does play such a big part in the story. All these things make the story terrific for me.
