This Bible was a gift for a Deacon from my church group who is older and wanted something larger in print size but not to heavy to haul around. This was the perfect gift for him. He has very much enjoyed it and is thankful for getting it. Print size was great for aging eyes and it wasn't to heavy.

I didn't have a bible with the Apocrypha and I wanted one. In my search I saw the NRSV XL. It was large print, the price was right and I didn't have a NRSV, so, I purchased it back in June. It's currently October and this bible is now in the top three of my favorite bibles to read. I have 17 bibles.

The pages are so bright & white and the letters are extra large & dark black. When the light hits the paper just right it has that blueish tint - that I prefer because it looks brighter - instead of that brownish tint that's in most bibles. I only have one other bible that has this same quality. It's a Holman.

The paper is crisp and hardly any bleed through. None of my other bibles have less bleed through.

I have 12 translations of the bible. The NRSV is now one of my favorites. That's just my opinion you know.

The shape of this bible is square. For some reason it makes it more fun to hold, turn the pages and read. Maybe its because its just different.

The spine is not pictured but its light blue, like the front cover, and gold and black. Its very classy and attractive sitting on the shelf. While we're on the subject of "on the shelf" let me say this. When it sits on the shelf it sticks out a little farther than most because of its square shape. All this gives a nice variety to the collection.

Most of all this is one of the best bibles for pure reading joy.
