GuillaumeDPortland, ORAge: 45-54Gender: male1 Stars Out Of 5Yet another bunny trail to "godliness".March 29, 2011GuillaumeDPortland, ORAge: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1"Greenolatry", "Environmentolatry" No one denies that as Christians, we are to be responsible stewards for whatever the LORD has given to us. But the fact that the current Church is so spiritually anemic is emphatically proven by the very creation and marketing of such a product. I agree with John; liberal hogwash! Scripture is clear (and no, the NUMBER of times that something is mentioned does NOT correlate to its importance) that we are not of this world, we are the of the kingdom of God. All things will be renewed. Instead of wasting money on yet another product, sell your big screen TV's and teach the kids to play cribbage!
MJ4 Stars Out Of 5Neat environmental perspectiveNovember 21, 2010MJQuality: 2Value: 3Meets Expectations: 4It always surprises me when I discover a new type of Bible and that I have with the Green Letter Bible. Using an adapted method off of a Red Letter Bible with the words of Jesus Christ, this Bible uses green letters where the scripture talks about the environment. As a person who tries to recycle and use more natural products I could be better, but I try do something. Finding a Bible that is a full on study guide for a series of Bible studies on the care of creation and God's role is refreshing and exciting.
When I first got my hand on a copy in the new trade paperback version I was impressed to see just how many green passages there were. I have always thought of creation as special, but never really put down to how much the Bible talks about it. I think this Bible is a great tool to add for some reflective study on living your life and the things that you interact with, however I would not choose this to be your sole Bible. The essays in the front are very interesting. As long as you as a reader keep your focus on Christ's purpose in the Bible, this is a great addition to your shelf.

James a pastorClayton, NCAge: 45-54Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5April 15, 2010James a pastorClayton, NCAge: 45-54Gender: maleThe Green Bible is a Bible that makes us look deeply at the covenant that was given to humanity to take care of God's creation. It's not about worshipping the creature or creation. It is about being good stewards. In reference to the NRSV being a mistranslation, one must be aware of the dates of the codices that were used for translation. Scholars worldwide know that the KJV was taken from a flawed codex. The key is that God gave Adam in the Garden a task, and Adam has not lived up to that task. All of humanity needs to be aware that the earth is not ours to abuse and use for selfish purposes.
Dee HixsonCaliforniaAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5March 29, 2010Dee HixsonCaliforniaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleI really like this bible, i even covered it with a homemade paper bag cover. I like the size and all the extra sources. If you like eco-friendly products you will love this bible. I really like the green font on some of the verses. The downside is very minor and Im just adding them in by hand, the references to show where in the OT did a quote come from when it is used in the NT.
Martin Farrell5 Stars Out Of 5February 26, 2009Martin FarrellThe Green Bible is a long time in coming! Too often Christians in the West have been taught to ignore God's presence within His Creation. Hopefully, this will give them an appreciation for His Revelation in both Creation and the Scriptures. Can be get a study bible next?
