Page turner of a romantic suspense

Lynette Eason's Nowhere to Turn is a page-turner of a romantic suspense. Danielle Harding just wants to escape her abusive husband. The day she has the courage to flee, he's killed. She believes her problems are over and she can begin to build a life for herself and her twelve-year-old deaf son. But she's wrong. In some ways her problems are multiplying. The book became a page-turner of a race to figure out who was after her. Trouble comes from many directions. And she has something that somebody dangerous wants. The problem is she has no idea what that is. The body count builds as the tension ratchets up chapter by chapter. There's also a realistic romance that builds over the weeks of the chase.

There is also a spiritual thread of letting go of the past. Of being willing to trust God with the future and move into what He has for us without the heavy chains of the past tugging us backward.

Lynette Eason is an author who I think gets better with every book. Each new one I seem to race through faster than the prior books. At this rate, the next one will disappear in the blink of an eye!

The moment I opened the book and began reading was the exact time I sensed the author turned the tension up to a very high setting in her newest story! I sat up all night to read the entire novel because I knew there was no way I was going to sleep without the knowledge of how the tale concluded. Sure enough, the suspense was palpable and the ending simply brilliant as I read the last sentence and chuckled.

Dani is the female character who is a wife to an FBI agent who was abusive, insane and dirty to the core. Kurt was killed one night and his brother Stuart planned on taking his place as the new husband to Dani, but Dani had other plans. Those plans were to run to refuge where she and her son, Simon, could obtain new identities and disappear. However, the illegal activity Kurt was involved in had many partners who wanted to obtain the merchandise and money Kurt never turned over to the hungry, power loving people who paid for the delivery of their order.

Adam is the operative assigned to protect both Dani and Simon from being found by Stuart or those who want their merchandise no matter the cost. What brings forth the well-written tension is how Adam, along with those he is protecting, tries to stay one step ahead of the killers each time the bad men are closing in on their latest safe house location. Dani is a woman whose faith is new, but through her trials is growing fast in trusting the Lord. Simon is the teenager who trusts his mother and knows more about what Dani has endured than she thought. One night Simon decides he alone can bring the danger to an end.

I kept getting lost more and more in the story with each new twist and turn of the plot. The action never seemed to loosen up until almost the very end of the book. One other aspect I liked about the tale was how the author showed the personal sacrifices and hard choices the protector, Adam, had to make between his personal family and job. Simons character made me laugh as a teenage boy who always thought with his stomach, claiming to always be starving.

In the summer of 2015, book three of the series will be released, and until then I guess I will find other wonderful novels to enjoy.

Debs Dozen: Dirty cops, deaf son, abusive spouse. Run, Dani, run! Nowhere to Turn

Dani Harding has had enoughshes taking her deaf son, Simon, and running away. Kurt has abused her for the last time. But the day she decides to run, Kurt is killed in a shooting. Dani thinks she and Simon are finally safebut are they? Seemingly Kurt has taken and hidden something that the bad guys really want. And now Dani is running again. Not only from them, but from her brother-in-law, Stuart, who is all but stalking her. He sees getting Dani as finally winning the competition against his dead brother.

Dani runs to Operation Refuge and hires Adam Buchanan to help her as she and Simon run for their lives. Adam is entranced by Dani and her story and endeavors to protect her and Simon. But somehow, the bad guys keep finding them .

Nowhere to Turn is one of Lynette Easons best. I kept thinking that I had the plot all figured out, but she kept throwing me curves. I stayed up until 2 a.m. to finish the bookand what a denouement! You will want to get this one as well as the first book in the Hidden Identity series, No One to Trust, so that youll be all caught up before her next book in the series, No Place to Hide releases this summer.

Youll like Dani and her son, Simon, who is a math genius. Youll also like Adam and Operation Refuge. Eason has the ability to create totally believable characters who grab at your heartstrings at the same time youre impressed with their courage.

Lynette Eason is a best-selling author with two previous series to her credit, Women of Justice and Deadly Reunions. Learn more about Lynette at www.lynetteeason.com
