Mrs ARS4 Stars Out Of 5Practical Guide on Overcoming FearAugust 6, 2014Mrs ARSQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5In his book, Rabbi Schneider opens up from his very own life experiences about his fears and how God has helped him work through them. He addresses many fears, which all of us have had from one time or another. I found it interesting that when he was talking about his childhood that I had some of the same fears in my childhood that he had experienced. That was really an eye opener for me as I thought my fears and anxieties were just my own from my own imagination. He gives insights on how we can deal with our fears through prayer and gives us Bible verses. This would make a good devotional, especially if someone is dealing with a lot of worries with everything going on in the world today. We were not made to be afraid and that is not how we were meant to live our lives. He does discuss his dreams a bit, and that he has found meaning in them. I received this book from The Book Club Network, Inc. (TBCN) and the opinions are my own.

Rabbi Schneider shares the fears he has faced in life. He is transparent about some of the fears which seem rather irrational because they were straight from suggestions of the evil one trying to take Rabbi Schneider's eyes away from his God. Having personally overcome many fears, Rabbi Schneider is an expert on where the fears originate and how he has been able to overcome his fears through concentrating on promises in Scripture, prayer and obedience to do what the Bible commands.
I know of so many people who could benefit from this book. I have dealt with fear in my life, too, and found Scripture to be the best way to give lasting freedom from certain fears. For that reason I see the complete validity of this book, and want to buy some extra copies to give away to those in need. If you suffer from fear, whether rational or irrational, this book will help you. It has a spiritual prescription that will set you on the path to conquering fear. Then you will think of others, family and friends, who could benefit from this book.
We live in difficult times with so much turmoil in the world, and stories of evil in the news. All those news stories hurt not only those who have been victimized by crime, but they are part of the evil one's arsenal to add daily to listener's fears of the what ifs, what nows, and what do I do about this unknown and out of control possibility. Those fears add stress to life, and stress limits life. The evil one is against life (God's great creation) so he is happy with using fear to take down those who were meant to trust in their Creator instead of trusting in fear more than Him. For that reason, I think most everyone can benefit from this book. No one is immune to the bad news in our world. Offset and overcome the bad with the good found in this book.
I received this excellent resource through bookfun.org without cost in exchange for my honest review. Settle your fears once and for all time through the wise instruction given in this book!

Messianic Rabbi Schneider offers personal descriptions of his worst fears and how he overcame them. Fear is the instinctive perception of danger, and our escape route is through God. The author shares how fear can paralyze us and prevent us from moving forward in life. Each chapter begins with scripture pertaining to the text, and biblical principles toward eliminating fear. Fear comes from the enemy, but as it states in the Bible, "the truth shall set you free." God's love is perfect, and he is our refuge. God is with us, and we must stand on his promises to defeat fear. The rainbow is the symbol of God's covenant that remains with us forever. The format used in Do Not Be Afraid is easy to read and the examples offered to apply in daily living are encouraging and useful. Seasons of GraceAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5How to Overcome your Fears with God's WordJuly 5, 2014Seasons of GraceAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5In the world we live in, how does a person live without fear? There is so much happening around us, that fear seems to be a way of life for most. I know there are many things that could paralyze me with fear if I allow it.
In this book, Rabbi Schneider talks about his childhood and his many phobias. He explains how at times they practically paralyzed him and he could barely go on because of his fear. He tells about his Jewish background, his family life, and how God really did not play much of a part in his early life. He then gives his testimony of how Jesus rescued him from that life, and through much Bible study and prayer, he learned to live life free of fear.
The author give countless Scriptures on how to overcome fear. He emphasizes the need to fully and completely trust the Lord, and when God is first and foremost in our lives, and we learn to accept him as Sovereign, we do not need to fear no matter what is happening around us.
Each chapter begins with a verse and ends with a prayer. Learning to find freedom from fear is an ongoing process of hiding God's word in our hearts, learning to trust Him. Satan has used the fear tactic from the get-go and is still using it today.
I felt like the majority of this book was Biblically sound. There were a few of the Rabbi's personal experiences that I have to say I was a bit skeptical about, but I cannot judge how God reveals himself or his Spirit to another person. I do know that God reaches out to different individuals in ways they can relate to Him, and He knows how to draw men to himself. This book is on a more charismatic level, than my personal choice of belief, but I honestly feel like a person can glean alot from what the Rabbi has to say, and ultimately he has professed the truth of Jesus as Messiah, the way to heaven, and restorer of man's relationship to the Father.
I received this book from Bookfun.org in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I was not required to give a positive review.
