Zoe @ Blessed and Bewildered4 Stars Out Of 5A child's fear is humorously explored and the beautiful remedy of prayer is provided.November 19, 2017Zoe @ Blessed and BewilderedQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4Max Lucado's book, I'm Not A Scaredy-Cat, is written in rhyming verse and is filled with misadventures that express the kitty's fear in humorous ways. These fearful moments in kitty's life will not scare your child, yet they will get the point across. After a few frightening misadventures, Lucado provides a prayer of reassurance meant to encourage your child to reach out to God for peace in frightening situations.
Don't just glance over the illustrator's name. Shirley Ng-Benitez is an absolutely amazing illustrator. The book is bright, cheerful, and adorable. The scaredy-cat is electrified looking. Ng-Benitez captures the kitty's fright perfectly. Priceless.
One of the craziest things happens inI'm Not A Scaredy-Cat. That silly kitty had every single member of my family scratching our heads in wonder.
(you will need to see the image on my blog for this to make sense)
WHO DOESN'T LOVE SPRINKLES?!?!!!!! So not scary! My kids would just ask for more... keep on throwing those sprinkles... throw them my way... MORE, please!
Overall,I'm Not A Scaredy-Catis a sweet children's book that you will enjoy snuggling up to with your child to read. Happy reading!
I do not know who determines the age and grade range for children's books. The only place that I found that information posted was on Amazon. I have included it in the book information at the top of the review, but I find the suggested age range to be far too old for this book. It is more appropriate for the toddler set.
As a reviewer for FrontGate Media, I received a review copy of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. My thanks to FrontGate Media, the author, and publisher.

comfyreading5 Stars Out Of 5cuteOctober 22, 2017comfyreadingQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Max Lucado is a Christian author, and his books have always been a big inspiration to readers of all ages. I have read a few of his books myself, and I do find them quite magical. In his new book, Im Not a Scaredy Cat, kids big and small can find ways to deal with worry through God.
The illustrations in this book are so cute, and the message behind the story is wonderful. I love that this book is big, and the pages are extremely colorful. They really pop out at you. The story tells of a cute kitty who seems scared of many things, like rubber ducks, elephants, and even rain. When he says a prayer, he is able to take that fear and turn it into bravery.
This is an amazing story to share with your little ones when they may be going through a tough time. My son enjoyed looking at the pictures and thinking of ways to be brave in each situation that the cat found himself in. If this is Maxs first childrens book, he did a wonderful job. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Thank you to Book Look Bloggers for sending me this book.

I have nieces and nephews who have big fears. The majority of my nieces and nephews are more fearful than the kids around them. I was excited to read and review I'm Not a Scaredy-Cat with the hope of sharing it with them.
I enjoy Max Lucado's adult books, but this book was not really written in a way that makes it seem like something from him. It is a good book, but a lot more simple than his other books - both his children's ones and adult ones.
The pictures in this book are fun and colorful.
Who This Book is For:
This book is good for any kids who struggle with fear. I think it is appropriate for about age two through eight.
