Denise Dawson5 Stars Out Of 5A Good Basic Phonics ReaderJanuary 3, 2014Denise DawsonQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I was pleasantly surprised to see the resemblance between this book and the Abeka Phonics Reader. It is a systematic presentation of the English Language Phonics. It is a great book to use to teach a child how to read. If they can learn to recognize the phonics patterns presented, in the order they are presented, it provides a basis for word decoding. It could also be used to addresses specific areas that may have been missed or that need practice. I highly recommend this book. Thank you, Mr. Webster!

MDVAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5August 17, 2009MDVAge: 35-44Gender: femaleThis is a very basic reading book--no frills. It gets the job done but would be difficult to hold the attention of a wiggly child. However, if you are a creative teacher, you could use it only as a guide and create your own songs, games, etc. around it. My daughter will sit fairly easily and was reading words within the first week. However, at times she does resist doing it probably because it can be a bit boring.

LINDY GREAVESSouth AfricaAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5April 3, 2009LINDY GREAVESSouth AfricaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleExcellent book that could be used as a starter reading curriculum. I have found it helpful and refer to it often. We use it for spelling lists too. Uncluttered, without loads of pictures to distract. Could be used with any phonics based workbook.

LisaM53055 Stars Out Of 5May 7, 2008LisaM5305Everything you need to teach your child to read. It is bare bones basic but it gets the job done. Coordinates perfectly with CLP's Adventures in Phonics A worktext. I also reccomend getting the CLP Phonics Readers. It's all available right here at CBD.
