Wow! Hang on tight for this one. From the first page, No One to Trust is a heart-pumping, adrenalin-surging book that will have your hands glued to it until you finish it at 2:00am. This book Is definitely non-stop action. You are probably thinking because it is so fast-paced that the character development was miserable, but its not! The characters Summer and David were phenomenal. Lynette Eason kept them very well-developed throughout the whole book. She is such a gifted writer.
And while Im on Summer and David, as you probably know they are married throughout the book, which was so nice. Sometimes I get tired with the ending of the book being they lived happily after. I felt like Lynette Eason did marriage justice. Its not just all sunshine and roses, but when things got tough they stuck it out to the end. This was so refreshing to read. I was a fan of Lynette Eason, but now I am a SUPER fan. However, this type of book is not for everyone. I know a few people that are not crazy about this type of book.
I usually end a review with a comparison, but the thing about this book is that its in a league of its own. All I can say is well. read it!
The only reason I'm writing this review is having read the one-star rating for a 'disappointing' story. Lynette's plot and characters are believable. Perhaps it's having friends and family in this line of work. Yes, there was some repetitiveness while 'on the run', but that would've been expected. Olivia Todd and her daughters could come right from the shelter I volunteer at. U.S. Marshalls and Special Ops were well-developed for minor characters. Only issues: 1. In WITSEC those unmarried don't marry. 2. Contact with Marlee simply wouldn't have happened.
Romantic Suspense is one of my favorite genres when I get to just relax with a book. As she's written books, Lynette Eason has become an author I trust to give me a good read with an interesting plot. Somehow I had missed this book, so had to fix that, and I'm very glad I did.
No One to Trust is a wild race from the prologue and the first chapter. When the heroine wakes up to find a gun in her face, you know the book will be a page turner.
Lynette does what she does best...she creates characters that are compelling, a situation that is touch and go as the heroine realizes her husband is far from the man she believed him to be. At a few points the action almost goes too fast -- especially at the end. But the characters and story kept me coming back even as I was on vacation in England. I had to know how it ended. Another enjoyable romantic suspense from Lynette Eason.
Romance, Deception, the Witness Protection Program, the mafia, snakes - and No One to Trust!

Couldn't figure it outfirst Singularity by Steven Jamesnow No One to Trust by Lynette Eason both involving snakes! Then I had a brainstorm and checked the Chinese calendar sure enough, last year (while they both were probably writing their books) was the year of the SNAKE. Wonder if thats where they got the idea? The Chinese year this year is the Year of the Horse wonder if well be seeing a lot of westerns?
Lynette writes enough action and adventure, and enough suspense and romance, into her book to please every reader. All while involving murders, mayhem, and, yes, snakes.
Kyle Abernathy has the misfortune to witness the murder of a man in cold blood by his partner, Sam. Knowing that he is probably next, Kyle grabs Sams laptop that he knows from glances taken at the computer previously contains incriminating evidence against Sam and the Raimondi crime family.
Kyles wife, Summer, wakes up one morning to find Kyle missing and three armed men in her home trying to find him and the missing computer. Seems Kyle has been in the Witness Protection Program, and everything she thought she knew about him and their life is wrong.
Finding out how Summer finds Kyle and how Kyle attempts to keep them safe until Sams trial is the stuff that makes a great book. We find the FBI, local police, assassins, problem family members, and the Raimondi family all involved in the hunt for the computer and the mission of keeping Summer and Kyle alive. Loved the story and the characters and am looking forward to the next book in the Hidden Identities series as well.
Last June, I had the privilege of interviewing Lynette at the International Christian Retail Show (ICRS). We had a grand time talking about her and the books she is writing. No One to Trust has the theme of forgiveness and how deception can poison even a good relationship. The next book, No Where to Turn, is about Operation Refuge to help people whose needs are beyond what the law can do to help.
Lynette is married and has a 13-year-old boy, Will, and 15-year-old girl, Lauren. Her full-time job is professional fund-raising for Christian radio stations. She loves to travel with her husband. She has an undergrad degree in Business and a Masters in education and teaching. She teaches sign language at an online public school and has taught for Dun & Bradstreet.
She never imagined being a writer, but when her daughter was 9-months-old, she started writing a story in her head and finally put it on paper. After getting rejected a couple of times, she decided that I need to get this right and attended her first writers conference in 2002. Lynette is fortunate to have Dee Henderson for a mentor and says Dee taught her to write. In 2007, she sold her first book to Harlequin she even remembers the date was February 16th!
