I have looked for accessible bibles for my unsaved and newly saved friends, but most new believer study bibles are awful. While not aimed at new believers, i love this bibke because:

    1. It is NLT - accurate and readable

    2. The various sidebar features are laid out consistently and in simple but attractive ways that dont confuse or distract.

    3. The three levels of readimg are a simple to understand concept, are clearly marked, and well chosen to represemt the important biblical themes.

A person totally unfamiliar w the bible could start at genesis and follow the simplest reading path and end up with a good basic understanding of the scriptures and the gospel.

First, the New Living Translation (NLT) is very clear. Although, I do recommend consulting a study bible. When you run into difficult verses.

Next. Wayfinding is "giving you directions" to read, and it so clears up. How is the Bible all connected. How the OT connects to the NT. I am reading at least one selection every night.

For learning the stories of the Bible. I highly recommend this Bible.

I have different Bibles for studying, but I wanted one to simply read for enjoyment at the end of the day. This one was recommended by my Pastor and I haven't been disappointed. You can choose 3 different routes depending on how much depth your interested in getting into. The beginning of each book provides a timeline to help ground you in where you are in history and the NLT is so easy to read. It's a great way to get some Bible reading in before bed with a clear plan in perfect-sized chunks for those of us who prefer to flip through pages rather than curl up with technology. I bought a copy for my husband and my daughter hoping they'd get into reading the Bible for enjoyment too.

When I described this Bible to my daughter she said it reminded her of the books my kids used to read where you choose an ending to the book first. That choice determines how the story is read. Choosing a different ending virtually makes each reading a new story. With the Wayfinding Bible the ending is always the same. It's the route that is different! But each journey (route) is exciting and new.

I have taught many ladies Bible classes and also homeschooled my children. When I saw this Bible I was immediately excited by the possibilities for group studies and wished that it had been around in our homeschooling days!

No, I don't always agree with the commentaries along the way but I look at these as discussion starters, not reasons to pass on this book. However, that brings me to my only concern about giving this to a new Christian. While I think this would be an excellent way to guide a newbie through the scriptures, I would be careful to make notations on any comments that you might question. But there again, this would make a great way to mentor someone in the faith as you walk alongside them in their readings.

All in all, I have to say that I love this concept! So far I have followed the Fly-Over Route and really like that the readings are in chronological order. It makes understanding and putting the stories in order in my head so much easier. I find that I'm anxious to get going on my daily Bible readings again. I am looking forward to following the other 2 routes in the months to come!

IMHO, I don't think you will be disappointed in this new way of reading the best book in the world! Take a chance!
