The NLT version has been a true treasure. I look forward to reading God's word in a translation I can understand and apply to my life. The larger font is reader friendly and the slimline design makes it easy to take along. I ordered more to share with family and friends.

The NLT is very readable, particularly to bring the truths of the Bible to diverse audiences, such as youth, or seniors who may not be familiar with a particular version of the scriptures. While this is NOT a "red letter" edition, that is of little importance if is is used to read to others from. Print size is convenient for reading. Those familiar with the wording of the KJV or NKJV will find some of the different wording in the NLT unfamiliar, e.g., "The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need," in the NLT versus, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want," in the KJV. Then again, David did not write in English, so who is to say which is "better?" While the version lacks a concordance, there is a thorough "Life Application Life Topics" index, as well as a 2 page index to familiar passages, such as "the Good Samaritan."
