I gave the Bible as a wedding gift for a young couple. I've found that sometimes after the couple is married for a while, and experiencing difficulties, they will reread the note written in the front, and follow the guidelines laid out inside. The Lord has been there to meet them! Thank you for making this self-help Bible available.

This Bible is a good book to read through. I like the font size and type, and the notations at the bottom of the pages shows clearly how the text has been paraphrased.

(This is a preview review based upon NLT textual quality, and not any special features of this 06 edition...) The NLT, God's Word Version and the Contemporary English Version (CEV/American Bible Society) are the only ones using common English terms for "technical theology" concepts: "expiation, sanctification, regeneration, justification, predestination," etc. This puts them light years ahead in reader comprehension over the NIV/ESV/NAS/NKJV (and all the rest) for the non-theologically trained who enjoy understanding what we are reading. This is a new way of rating the translations for me; but I now favor these 3 for recommending to seekers and new Christians; and do not favor the use of "tech terminology" in a modern English Bible -- a 400 year old tradition being kept alive and dominant via our seminaries and universities; in effect, "a modern Latin Bible" workalike.
