ChrisCanadaAge: 35-44Gender: male4 Stars Out Of 5Overall good product but small printOctober 27, 2019ChrisCanadaAge: 35-44Gender: maleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4This is just a review of the physical printing, binding and design of this Bible (i.e. I don't get into the translation).
I tested with a drop of water and it is 100% waterproof just as advertised. This could be good for camping, sailing, canoeing etc. but for me it is great for my kids that have a way of touching books with sticky fingers... now I can wash the pages without any damage.
The pages are stronger than paper. i.e. they are much more tear resistant than paper.
The pages are actually plastic and there is a warning at the front that temperatures above 150F (65.5C) will adversely affect the Bible. I just did a quick search I found a table that claims that with an outside temperature of 100F (38C) the temperature inside a car will reach 150F (65.5C) in only 60 minutes. I guess the 100% worry free label on the jacket doesn't apply to leaving it in your car on a hot sunny day! I think the pages would start to wrinkle from the heat.
The print is a bit small for my liking. More specifically I measured the letters and capitol letters are exactly 2 mm high. lower case letters such as o are 1.2 mm high. The Bible is only 692 pages, for comparison I checked my other NIV Bible which and it is 1,078 pages so there are almost twice as many words per page on this waterproof bible (and the pages are almost exactly the same dimensions for both Bibles).
It is also quite bulky (for a small print Bible) 8.75" x 5.9" x 1.1" (22.3 cm x 15 cm x 3 cm). This is significantly thicker than my other NIV Bible that is 1,078 pages too). This means that the pages are much thicker but by looking at the pages they don't appear unusually thick.
The cover is made of plastic but it offers about the same level of protection as a typical paperback book.
The spine of the Bible is wavy (not flat like most books). The binding was done with hot glue but it looks like it was not smoothed out well enough before it cooled. This issue is only cosmetic and all the pages are secure.
The pages crease very easily just as easy if not a bit easier than with a typical paper Bible.
Even though my cons list is much longer than the pros list I am still happy with the purchase. I will need to be careful not to bake it in the car but other than that I am sure it will serve the purpose of having a waterproof Bible to take on a Kayak trip, a sailing trip or just to wash off sticky marks left by the kids.

Pepper4 Stars Out Of 5Truly WaterproofDecember 15, 2014PepperQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I purchased this as a gift for my husband. He loves it and uses it all the time! Similar to one of the earlier reviewers, one of the first things he did was put it under running water; the water wiped right off and didn't affect it a bit! It is a very nice Bible and great for an outdoorsman (or a gal who wants to read in the shower). I was glad that I could order it in my husband's favorite translation. Inside the cover, it says that it is 100% plastic, and recommends using ball point pens, pencils, or dry highlighters. Because it is plastic, you'll need to give the ink a little extra time to dry with the ball point or it will smudge. I wrote on the inside flyleaf, and placed a sheet of copy paper over the writing so it would soak up any extra ink that didn't adhere, which worked fine.
The ONE thing that I wished was that the print could have been larger. My husband is younger, but there will probably be difficulty reading the very fine print for an older person or a person with less than ideal vision. You may consider buying a reading magnifier to go with this if you or whoever you're purchasing this for can't read small print very well. I would say it was about a 7 or 8 point font size on a Microsoft Word document, which is small even for someone with good vision to read without some difficulty. Other than that, I really like this product, and so does my husband. And so do all his buddies. :)
bubba5 Stars Out Of 5awesomeJuly 29, 2014bubbaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Deffinetly great. The first thing I did was threw it in my pool to test it out. The only thing I wished that the nkjv had was an introduction to the books in the bible but it is deffinetly worth getting.

It is very nice. Haven't had long to know how it will hold up yet. But we did test it with water and it beads all off. It was bought as a gift for my son. He was very impressed with it!
