This Bible is so much better than I expected for the price, a really nice edition. The NKJV is my favorite translation and I wanted an inexpensive but readable one to highlight, underline, and jot a few brief notes for study, as I haven't marked my other Bibles. I own a few premium Schuyler and Allan Bibles, but I could be satisfied with only this Nelson edition if it's all I had. It's a lovely and affordable Bible in one of the more literal word for word modern English translations. The NKJV maintains the beauty and style of the KJV but in updated English.

I've used gel Bible highlighters, Micron pens, and even a regular fountain pen with no bleed-through to the other side of the paper at all. As in more expensive Bibles the text is line-matched and there is very little ghosting. That and the large (not giant) 10.5-pt type and the generous leading (white space between lines) make the text very easy and pleasant to read, even with my less than perfect vision. The words of Christ are printed in red.

Some nice extra touches are its beautiful silver edge gilding and two silver-colored satin ribbons. It is Smyth sewn and easily lies open flat. The synthetic floral embossed soft cover is flexible and the deep true purple looks regal with the silver accents. The format is verse by verse with some small end-of-verse references. I don't find the references obtrusive and they are right there if you want to go to those passages. Translation notes are at the bottom and a concordance and colored maps are in the back. It has a presentation page as well. While not a thinline, this Bible isn't too large or hefty for carry or reading from the hand. I love it!

Of course what is priceless in any Bible is the content, the word of God. I may buy a few more of these for gifts while they are available.

This is an outstanding Bible with most of the features I was looking for. First of all, the print is of superior quality being so nice and dark and large enough to read comfortably even with my aging eyes. There is good line spacing also along with the verse by verse format, making it so easy to read and not lose your place. It is line-matched which makes it even easier to read and the print doesn't fall into the gutter(Yay!!). The paper is white, not cream and the print shows up well. Also, the paper is pretty nice; not overly thin like so many Bibles these days. I believe you could use gel highlighters or dry highlighters without the fear of bleed-through but I'm not sure microns will work. There's not a lot of room in the margins for notes anyways so probably need to write on sticky notes instead. There are 2 very nice, wide, double-sided satin ribbon markers and the cover feels amazingly soft like leather. The purple cover has a floral embossed design on front and back which makes it easier to hold. It's light weight and opens up and lies flat. There are 5 nice, semi-glossy maps and a concordance in the back. I love the silver gilding. I had ordered the pink one along with this purple one but they ran out of stock so I will probably be back to try again once they come back in stock. This is the nicest Bible in the perfect size I've been able to find. This would make the absolute best gift for anyone who likes to read the Bible. They should make this one in a premier leather...it's that good. The NKJV translation is excellent as well; it's definitely one of my all time favorites.

I bought this Bible about 11 months ago. I use it daily. I have highlighted and written all thru it. Regular highlighters do bleed thru, but pastel color highlighters dont bleed thru. My pens dont bleed thru either. The pages are nice and the words are big and bold. The ribbon markers and the edges of the pages are so pretty. The cover is soft and very pretty. I love that this Bible lays flat so it helps when I'm studying and writing so I dont lose my place. I also love the publisher. This translation is super accurate compared to an old KJV Bible i have and I love the foot notes and references they put in to show what changes they have made (there arent many). I've been so pleased with my Bible and i recommend it to everyone. Im honestly quite surprised with how much I use it that its still in such good shape. And honestly, I probably wont be buying from any other publisher (unless they change it up in the future) because of the quality of the translation. I have bought my kids and my husband bibles from this publisher as well, not this specific bible but different ones, and they love them as well. I highly recommend. I dont think anyone will be disappointed.
