This Bible reading device ranks at the bottom of my list compared to CDs, cassette tapes, that I've had in the past. I use this device with Professor Grant Horner's reading plan, and I've doubled the readings to 20 chapters a day - morning and evening. I find the narrator's voice changes A LOT, and in the middle of a chapter. The other most annoying and disappointing thing is that the readings with just drop off at the end of some chapters in the middle of a sentence. So I don't really have the COMPLETE Bible.

PROS: The quality is good and the battery really lasts. I also like how I can lock the audio player to keep playing my choice audio so I can listen to it at night and not worry about bumping any buttons while I toss and turn. I specifically bought this just to listen the bible while I sleep. It doesn't disturb my partner as I connected it to a personal pillow speaker.

CONS: However, if it wasn't for the added SD card slot to upload your own digital audio I would asked for a refund and even though I kept it I still think it was a waste of money. The reason I say this is because the audio is not only rushed and far to fast but it sounds like a computer at times instead of a live reading. It reads so fast that it will just frustrate you because it's far to fast for your mind to absorb what your are hearing.

Yes, I listened to the sample audio that was available prior to purchase but they must have chosen the best clip or they just customized that clip to sell you on the product! In reality the voice reads like its a digital computer and not an actual person. Let me explain. It is as if a computer is putting sentences together and this is not an actual live reading. It sounds like the reader recorded one word at time. Then a computer compiles the words into sentences, instead of this being an actual live reading recording. Plus it reads so fast that it just makes this computer generated reading far too uncomfortable to even get used too over time. Once you hear it you can't unhear it.

To be honest I won't ever listen to it again because it's just that awful to listen too. I will use it so I can upload my own audio but all in all. I honestly have a bitter taste in my mouth for this purchase.

My first audio Bible was on cassette tapes with Alexander Scorby. My second, the CD version with Eric Martin was more convenient but my-iBible is better by far. I have the entire Bible in the palm of my hand ready to play anywhere at any time. It is awesome! Except for the way Stephen Johnson reads it. His inflection goes up or out instead of down. He is quite disgusting. Thank God I still have my Eric Martin CDs.
