RescuedByTheLamb5 Stars Out Of 5NKJV Journal the Word Bible, Large Print, Bonded Leather, Brown, Red Letter EditionMay 31, 2017RescuedByTheLambQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for NKJV Journal the Word Bible, Large Print, Bonded Leather, Brown, Red Letter Edition.I am known for writing in my Bibles and now I can do so without having to scrunch things together as much. I try to read a different Bible each year to glean new perspectives from the different authors i.e. Maxwell, Stanley, MacArthur, Ryrie, Scofield, Net, etc. Maybe now I can combine all my notes from my different Bibles into one location.
Michelle calls the pages "yellow" but they are actually a cream color not yellow in the sense of being "yellow"! If you want to color in your Bibles why not use colored pencils or Crayola puts out erasable crayons like a pen that twist up to use. I use the Crayola Erasables for highlighting and they work superbly well unlike the ones "made" for Bible highlighting, etc. -
Rufus5 Stars Out Of 5Happy at last.March 4, 2017RufusQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for NKJV Journal the Word Bible, Large Print, Bonded Leather, Brown, Red Letter Edition.Have been looking for a NKJV journaling bible for several years. Read several reviews about this one and was skeptical about the paper color. Went by a bookstore and looked at one and decided that the color was crme and not yellow so I ordered it. Have used dry highlighters in blue, red, green and even yellow and they all show perfectly. Even the yellow stands out on the page. I use ball point pens so no problem with bleeding. Love the wide margins.

Amanda5 Stars Out Of 5Beautiful, quality BibleMarch 30, 2018AmandaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for NKJV Journal the Word Bible, Imitation Leather, Brown/Cream, Red Letter Edition.I got the brown/cream NKJV Journal the Word Bible when it was on sale for $14.99. One of those deals that seems almost too good to be true, am I right? But it wasn't. This is a high quality Bible. The imitation leather is gorgeous, and the canvas/linen front portion is quite nice. The pages are smooth and, as promised, thick enough that I feel like I won't have to constantly worry about my pens ripping through them. I haven't done much marking in here yet, but so far I would recommend avoiding your super "inky" pens (I tried using a Pilot Precise V5 rolling ball pen and that was a little iffy on the bleed). The font is a beautiful serif, and is very readable. Love the one-column format, especially for narrative passages. One thing to note, there are no cross-reference notes in the bottom margin, and no maps or mini-concordance in the back. Those are the only things I wish were different about this Bible. Overall, wonderful product, well worth the purchase.

Jeffrey Sisemoore5 Stars Out Of 5My Favorite BibleMay 25, 2018Jeffrey SisemooreQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I own more Bibles than necessary (upwards of fifteen not including electronic versions) with many different translations, some for reading, others for study, with varying features and articles. What I did not own, until I purchased the premium leather NKJV version with the flap and leather tie was a journaling Bible. Turns out, this excellent Bible is so beautiful, so supple in my hands, and so easy to read with its thick cream-colored pages and clear print, I don't want to mar it by writing in it. I use it for my morning devotions, and after 10 months of use I am as pleased with its construction and feel today as I was the day I first opened its cover.
If I ever lost this Bible I would replace it with the same version in a heartbeat (notwithstanding all the other Bibles I own). It is truly a delight to read and makes my morning devotions extra special. I have also come to like the NKJV translation quite a bit.
I keep telling myself that when I finish reading through this Bible later this year and start over again at Genesis I will journal in the ample margins the second time through it. We'll see. It's really too fine a Bible to leave my scratchy handwritten notes on the page. -
Erasmus5 Stars Out Of 5The best wide argin Bible I have ever owned!February 23, 2017ErasmusQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for NKJV Journal the Word Bible, Large Print, Bonded Leather, Brown, Red Letter Edition.I love this Bible! I was looking for a Bible in a modern translation in which I could underline and make notations and which could take the place of the wide margin KJV Bibles I have had for years. The KJV's near Shakespearean English and the chopping of the text into single verses, lined up in double columns created difficulty for me in understanding the flow of thought. In comparison, the single column text and paragraph format in modern English makes it easier to follow the flow of the argument. I also greatly appreciate the lined margins, making it easier to keep the notes neatly next to the text on which I wish to comment. The brown, bonded leather binding is very attractive, and the font size is large enough to make reading easy.
