I was curious about this study bible as I do have a NKJV bible, the Duck Commander bible, however it has no study or foot notes.

So I got my hands on this one, and while it is nice. It does lack the extent of notes that my Life Application study bible has. It really did not suit me at all. For it to be a foundation study bible, I expected for this bible to have more in-depth study notes than it does as that is one of the main purposes behind using a study bible.

    This is a wonderful bible.

The arrival of this bible was absolutely perfect. I was beginning a new study in prayer and it was suggested that you read the Gospel of Luke so you can learn about prayer from Jesus. As I opened the Bible to Luke the first thing I noticed was the reference given to the author, time, key verse and it also gives a theme. These areas gave me a good reference for what I was about to read. For a lot of people these are important elements when beginning to read God's word. The text is in NKJV which conforms to the thoughts flow of the of the 1611 Bible. There are subject headings to assist the reader in identifying topics and transitions in the biblical content. Words or phrases in italics indicate expressions in the original language which require clarification and there are also cross references and translator's notes. At the bottom of each page are verse-by-verse study notes and theological notes. The words of Jesus are in red.

There were many things I liked about this Bible.

-First, the text is easy to read and understand.

-Second, the study notes further explained the scripture and helped with comprehension and implementation of the scripture.

-Third, I liked the background given of the author. I don't believe I had ever heard this before.

    -Fourth, the time frame.

-Fifth, the theme of the Gospel.

In the back of the book gives theological notes and index by title and a large concordance that is very helpful when looking for something directly. Then lastly there are 8 pages of full-color biblical maps. Each is very precise and beautifully illustrated.

The one thing I didn't like about this Bible was the print size. If it had of been bigger then the text would have been easier to read.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a study bible.

The Bible was shipped to me free in return for an honest review. It arrived undamaged and in generally good condition except a bent corner. It is a hardcover with a dustjacket. It is case bound, and smyth-sewn. It is produced in China and does not seem to suffer major quality problems that you might find in other Chinese made Bibles. I have a general dislike of dustjackets and remove them. The spine is rounded, there are plain jane, white, head and tail bands. There are no ribbon markers. The paper is sufficiently white and opaque, yet not enough so to denote true quality. This is a value edition in my opinion. It is nothing spectacular. The price is very low and affordable. The font seems smallish at about 8 point. The notes are even smaller. It is laid out in a double column, verse format, red letter edition with center column references and notes at the bottom of the page. It is a pretty typical layout, so no surprises there. I actually like the layout. At 8 by 5 by about 1 this is not a large study Bible. Matter of opinion, I wouldnt call it a study Bible. I would call it an enhanced reference Bible. The notes are very basic and limited. I understand the intended audience is immature Christians. I believe they would be better served from a true study Bible. This would be good for a person who wants a smaller hardcover reference Bible with a bit more in the way of notes. If you want a study Bible, get a MacArthur Study Bible, or an ESV Study Bible. There is a concordance and some maps in the back of this Bible. The maps are printed on a matte paper and should hold up better than the high gloss ones of yesterday. So to sum up, I would recommend this to someone looking for an inexpensive reference Bible with some extra notes. I wouldnt recommend this for someone to use as a serious study aid. This would be a good Bible to give away to people.

I got this Bible for review..and so far I love it! It has wonderful notes at the bottom, section titles, and maps-which I really love. It's a very smooth, clean, simple Bible. It's not too complex, but it explains the verses thoroughly well. The thickness of the pages are perfect and the pages don't bleed easily. The size is perfect, and it's really nice to use.

The notes at the bottom are very helpful, and explain things very well. The title sections are wonderful, and it's very easy to read. The text is the perfect size for me to read.

I have always found it hard to find good NKJV nowadays, more often there are NIV's and am very happy to have found this Bible.

Over all, I'm super happy with this Bible and am looking forward to using it more.

*I was given this book to review by Booklook Bloggers. All opinions are entirely my own.*
