This Bible has commentary right in the wide margins from such a wonderfully eclectic group of theologians from throughout the ages that I knew I'd be learning more about the Word from the first reading. And I was definitely not disappointed.
It is fascinating to read commentary by Warren Wiersbe on a few verses, followed by commentary on the next few verses by Matthew Henry, followed by...you get the picture. It is a broad range of views to help keep your interest as you deepen your knowledge of the Word of God.
And not every page has the margins so filled with commentary, so there is even room left for taking notes or drawing doodles or whatever technique you use to help tuck the Word into your heart.
The format of the NKJV Ancient Modern Bible does make it easy to read, while still maintaining its classical appearance. And the book introductions are lovely, with their timeless Gothic typeface drop caps and rich colors.
Not to mention the fact that they contain quite a bit of interesting information.
Overall, I'm very impressed with the NKJV Ancient Modern Bible and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a way to enrich their time studying the Word of God.
Many thanks to Thomas Nelson Publishers for the complimentary copy of this Bible for review purposes. I was not required to give a positive review. All opinions are my very own!

I love the gift box it comes in. The gold detailing balanced with white is very simple, modern and elegant. It's easy on the eyes and great to display on your desk or shelf. The Bible is setup similarly to their journal the Word Bible in that it's a single column Bible with wide margins for notes. There are no lines, but it does include commentary concerning the scriptures.
Besides the commentary within this Bible there are book introductions, biographies, essays and other great resources. Towards the back of the Bible there are several articles, creeds of the church (such as the apostles' creed), reading plans, artwork and maps. This Bible does not include a concordance like most Bibles, but considering that this is not a study Bible that's okay.
This is definitely a combination of a journaling Bible and commentary. I enjoy the notes throughout and photographs of the artwork are outstanding. This is not essential to studying, it's one of those Bibles that would be a good asset, but not needed. Personally, I adore it and all that it offers. It does come with two satin bookmark ribbons in a nice dark charcoal and golden shade which are thick. I love it!
The Bible comes in three different bindings: white hardcover, gray cloth over board and brown leathersoft, so you can pick according to your desire. It's a beauty and one that you may enjoy!

Utilizing the wisdom from such scholars as: Eugene Peterson, Johannesburg Brenz, Bruce Waltke, James Bryan Smith, Victorian Strigel, Warren Wiersbe, Charles Spurgeon, John Calvin, John Wesley, C. S. Lewis, and so many others, this Bible has the potential to change the way its readers look at and absorb the knowledge of scripture and how it effects their relationship with Christ.
Turning the pages of this Bible, you will find new book introductions, biographies of notable church leaders, full color maps, and beautiful depictions of art that have crossed the span of time and history, lists of church creeds, and special scripture lists for various seasons.
In my personal journey through through this Bible, I find only two deficits at this point. While this Bible features the Thomas Nelson NKJV Comfort Print typeface, it is brought forth a little minute for the average reader, and the words of Christ are not presented in red.
All in all, this Bible has the potential to be a powerful asset towards the growth of. those who possess it within their lives, thus it is a recommended purchase.
