this bible is beautiful and easy to read. it feels good in my hands because the cover is so soft. i love the way its laid out. the only problem i had was i didnt rwalize it was the new revised version of niv so it was a bit confising at firts when some of the passages were worded slightly differently but i got used to it pretty quickly and the updates are actually easier to understand in a lot of ways.
This is my first single-column Bible; I love the format, especially for poetry! It is easy to read, and the size is just perfect. I actually wouldn't mind if it were slightly smaller, but I realize that single-column text takes up more space than the traditional double-column. The binding, cover, and paper quality are not stellar, but definitely adequate, especially at this price. The NIV text is one of my favorite translations for personal reading as well as deeper study, although I do recommend using multiple translations. Last but not least, this Bible is very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this Bible!
I am a big fan of the single-column format Bibles. Although I prefer the NASB for study, I use the NIV for preaching as the church is young with many new Christians. The NIV provides a better understanding for this crowd. The construction of the Bible was great, and I particularly like the lay-flat aspect. My only complaint is the font size. Large print should be LARGE PRINT. Would like for it to have had at least 12...maybe 14 font size. I would prefer the bulk over smaller print. Notwithstanding all, I like the Bible, and have decided to give it to my son. He has younger eyes.
