    Great resource for Bible Quizzing

Everything thing about this production is truly top notch, although I am not a fan of the 2011 NIV, my denomination uses it for Children's Quizzing. The two things I have loved the most about this product is 1) it captures my kid's attention as straightforward Bible reading does not and 2) the ability to put the entire NIV Live on electronic devices using apps, the code for doing so is included with the CD set. It is possible to create playlists which my children can listen to independently to prepare for Bible quizzing.

I highly recommend this product to any family participating in Bible quizzing using the NIV 2011. Best resource you will ever purchase for quizzing, in my opinion. I also had problems setting up playlists (my own fault) and contacted the NIV Live support and they responded within 24 hours and solved my problem immediately. Really, you should buy this!

    Better Than the Bible Experience

Let me give a brief review of this product.

Music4/5: The music can be breathtaking at times, but it does tend to overtake the reading of scripture on multiple occasions. The most problematic to me is the semi-rock music during certain prophetic books and the many battles recorded throughout the Old Testament. Does it match the emotion of the action? The answer is yes, but I'm not sure it is appropriate for the Bible. That being said, the music is usually fantastic. Beautifully produced and thought inducing, it does add outstanding quality to this production.

Acting4/5: Of course, anytime you have multiple actors that portray biblical characters, you will get a mixed bag. Most of the acting is incredible though. Some of the standouts include:

The voice of God: Alex Warner

The narrator: (Don't know his name)

    David: Kristoffer Polaha

    Moses: Phil Crowley

    Jesus: Christopher Gorham

    Abraham: Jessi Corti

Job: (Don't know his name either)

Production Values 3.5/5: This is one of the most problematic aspects of this product. Throughout the project there are some major flaws that the producer just didn't catch.

    1. In the book of 2nd King's, a small child plays King Josiah, even though the text clearly states that he was a young man (not child) when the repentance began. Then in 2 Chron., an older gentlemen plays King Josiah performing the same actions! I can't believe this wasn't caught.

    2. In the Book of Isaiah the 6th chapter, the angel that speaks to Isaiah is clearly male according to scripture ("his" and "he" provide an excellent clue as to the gender of the angel), yet a woman reads this part.

    3. There is a sound effect that the producers are quite proud of apparently, because it is used WAY too frequently. The sound of musicians playing celebration music is sometimes used in long passages. It can get on your nerves after a while.

Now, after I pointed out all these flaws, you're probably thinking that I did not enjoy the production. That is not the case, because these problems only make up about 3% of the production. The rest is excellent indeed.

Overall, this is an incredible audio Bible that even rivals the king of the audio Bible market: the Word of Promise. I enjoyed this product immensely and I believe you will as well.

It is much better than the Bible Experience, which was very good overall, but bordered on corny at times. There are no cheesy moments in this production.
