I purchased these CDs on the advice of a friend and I was very anxious to get them. I do have another set of the new King James version on CD but it's not dramatized as this one is. I absolutely love this purchase. I wear my headphones and listen to it while I'm exercising on the treadmill. I just started listening this morning while on the treadmill and before I knew it I had gone through 10 chapters of Genesis. I love the music in the background and the different voices of the Bible characters. One of the best purchases I've made

I enjoy following with my bible as Audio Bible is reading to me. The bible comes to live as the the actors read their parts. I sometimes had a hard time reading some of the names but now I am able to say the names! If I could change one thing about the Audio Bible is, could they talk a little slower.

this is a great product, the dramatized is a great feature as it keeps you interested, the voices in this is great and some are amazing as they are really in the moment speaking God word in a passionate and compeling way which depending what they can say of God word can encourage, inspire, shout out with joy. May you be bless with this audio cds and may God help you understand in all things. i forgot to mention there soothing and relaxing music in the background when the actors are doing there voice. in whole it gives you a better concept/picture of the scene

I purchased the 2007 set of these DVDs and I listen to them over and over again. King Saul has his own voice and so does King David and others. When I listen to the Psalms if David wrote the Psalm I am listening to, then it is the same voice that I hear. It does have music in the background but the music is soft and it doesn't prevent you from hearing the words like some TV shows that I have watched. I love these DVDs so I told my sister about them. She just received the 2012 version which looks exactly like my 2007 version and here is what she said about them in an e-mail to me.

"I just received this and I love it I am already on Gen 24. Thanks for the tip"

I wanted to purchase the Bible on CD to listen to. As the Bible tells us, "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ." Romans 10:17 ... but for me it was important to not have a dull voice over simply reading. I listened to the clip of this CD set online and liked the dramatization presented along with a bed of music playing.

However, I was really disappointed when I received the CDs, as the same voices are not used in the entire presentation ... and there are sections that are not dramatized, or the person doing the reading doesn't seem inspired ... a few of the voices feel like I am listening to a radio announcer ... one seems similar to one of the DJ's on KLOVE who jokes around too much. Too salesy a voice, not humble. So, that was a turn off .. and there is one woman's voice who reads a few of the psalms (one of my favorites that was horribly read - and I say read, because it wasn't like it was spoken with the heart). Her voice was just too grating on my ears ... I was disappointed.

So I feel that the sample was a bit misleading ... because I made my purchasing decision based upon that sample. And one would think that the product is consistent throughout, not just in the sample that is enticing you to buy it. I did sample other Audio Bibles. I am not totally happy, since it was an investment. The CD's are organized in a nice zip carrying case. But the more important aspect is having great voice overs, so that you want to play them over and over ... Bringing the Bible to life in audio is difficult ... and I have sat in church long enough to hear monotone readings of scripture, or reading by voices that are not music to my ears.

I have since found out that JIm Cavezel who played Christ in The Passion has been involved with another dramatized Bible on CD that uses famous actor's voices. That may have been a better choice for me.
