Dr JSKAge: 45-54Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5The NIrV Minecrafters BibleJuly 29, 2016Dr JSKAge: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Getting our children to read the Bible is essential to their growth and witness as Christians, but finding the resources to bring this idea to fruition is almost impossible, until now. Through the inspiration of the amazingly popular game Mindcraft, Zondervan has designed The Mindcrafters Bible.
This Bible contains all 66 books, Old & New Testaments, in the easy to understand, NIrV translation, a translation that is geared towards a younger audience. The amenities to this Bible are simple, as it is not designed to be an in depth study tool. Included inside are the following: a minute NIrV dictionary, defining a limited amount of words, and a section entitled Great Bible Stories. In this particular section readers can find a list of 92 important Biblical stories and their locations within the scriptures.
The central reasoning behind this Bible is centered around the 24, unofficial pages of content for gamers and fans of the game Mindcraft. Each colorfully illustrated page gives ideas of things that can be created within the game, based on stories within the Bible. One such example, found after page 952 and before page 953 centers around the Armor Of God. Along with a brief discussion about the Amor of God, including the scripture reference, the reader is then given and idea that can be utilized within the actual game, such as, in this case, creating the strongest suit of amor possible.
This Bible has the capability of turning a sluggish reader of scripture into one who turns its pages every day, thus it is a highly recommend for anyone, boy or girl, who loves to play Mindcraft.

GRANNY PENNYAge: 45-54Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Illustrated Bible for KidsJuly 18, 2016GRANNY PENNYAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The NIrV Minecrafters Bible was sent to me by Zonderkidz - a division of Zondervan Publishing free of charge, in exchange for my honest review.
The Minecrafters Bible uses the New International Readers Version. It has a dictionary in the backalong with an index of 92 Great Bible Stories. I also like that, scattered throughout are 24 full-color illustrations, done by Hannah Weinstein. Each one has a, What to Read section, which is a few verses to read and study. There is also a, What to Do section, which includes an activity. An examplemake you own Tabernacle. Another one
Build an animal pen with sheep. These are all part of a journey/game to encourage reading and studying of the Word.
I like this and would recommend it.
TimIllinoisAge: 45-54Gender: Male5 Stars Out Of 5NIrV Minecrafters BibleJuly 11, 2016TimIllinoisAge: 45-54Gender: MaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I do not play Minecraft, nor do I really plan to start playing. However, I do realize it is wildly popular today, so I wanted to check this bible out when I got the chance. To start with, it is the NIrV translation, so there is really nothing much to add to this fact. It is the entire text of the bible, and it is an easy to read translation for young readers. This is all good in my opinion. The print size is very small in this bible, but since it is targeting younger eyes, that really isn't an issue for the target audience in most cases.
As for the Minecraft additions, there are 24 pages of full color illustrations, with small stories on the pages. Each page gives an idea of something to create in the game. For example the story of Solomon's Temple includes the idea/tip to create a temple within the game. In the story of Jesus walking on the water, the challenge is given to create a lake and try to walk on it in the game.
This is a really nicely done bible for the Minecraft player, and the illustrations are nice additions to the bible overall. In the back there is a small dictionary and a list of 92 of the more exciting bible stories young readers might be drawn toward. All in all, I believe this is a great option as a gift for someone who is a Minecraft player, whether it be a boy or a girl. This is not a bible designed to be a boys or girls bible, it is a Mincrafters bible, and anyone who is a gamer will appreciate this bible I believe.
