I agree 100% with Cheryl's review [Mar.5,2018]. It is really bad that such a truly great book was changed. I used my original book ["The Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes"] for my young ones & loved it. Now that I need it for grandchildren et al it cannot be found (no longer published - such a shame). I don't see its equal anywhere.

Kenneth N. Taylor's original book, The Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes, published in 1956, made a huge impression on me as a child. When I grew up I remembered it and bought a copy to read to my own children. They also loved it! I have been reading it to my grandchildren now and they also love it! The stories are written in a way that young children can understand. We love not just the stories but also the illustrations, which are so beautiful and which depict the scenes so well that one can envision being there! I wanted to order the book for our young children's Sunday school classes and was so disappointed to see that they have changed the illustrations to drawings that are more like cartoons. They also changed it to have a prayer with each story instead of the scripture reference. I prefer the scripture reference because then the parent or teacher can know where it is in the Bible and be able to read and so answer questions. I dearly wish that Moody press would reprint the original. "If its not broken don't fix it. " I wrote that I would not recommend this to a friend. What I would recommend is that my friend try to get a copy of the original because it is the best Children's Bible I have ever seen! Not anymore....please fix it! Go back to the original!

I have bought this great book for baby gifts and Christmas/birthday presents. The stories are very accurate to the Bible and the pictures help young children visualize the story. A great buy!

This is the updated version of the Bible story book we used for our kids nearly 40 years ago. The pictures are still attracting to the eyes and the message of the stories is still solid. One Mom explained that her unsaved husband read with the kids every night and now he would be reading about Jesus. She was ecstatic. We still think this is the best Bible story book.

My 18 month old grandson was having trouble sitting still through an entire story in the Jesus Storybook Bible so these shorter stories are perfect for him to hear God's word. My daughter often can read two or three of them at one time to him. When he is older and more verbal, the questions at the end of each story will be a bonus.
