Colleen Coble and Robin Carroll in their new book "Rock Harbor Lost & Found" Book Two in the Rock Harbor Search and Rescue series published by Thomas Nelson gives us another adventure with Emily O'Reilly.
From the back cover: An old photo, a shocking revelation and a mysterious disappearance-it's up to Emily and adorable Search and Rescue puppy Sherlock to solve the case!
Fourteen-year-old Emily O'Reilly and her best friend Olivia Webster have a knack for solving mysteries. So when Emily stumbles across an old photo of Olivia's adoption dayââ¬âa fact that has never been revealed to Oliviaââ¬âthe two quickly decide to uncover the mysterious details surrounding Olivia's birth parents.
But the two bite off more than they can chew as they dig into learning more about Olivia's adoption without notifying her parents. And to make matters worse, Emily's mother Marika, a convicted felon recently released on parole, will stop at nothing to contact her daughterââ¬âa fact that Emily is not happy about. When her beloved stepmother Naomi disappears, Emily takes it upon herself to connect the dots and conduct her own snow-bound search-and-rescue mission with Sherlock.
Will Emily ever find the secret behind Naomi's disappearance? And will Olivia ever learn the truth about her adopted parents?
Emily and her Search and Rescue puppy, Sherlock, are back in a second adventure and this time she really has hands full. Emily and her friend, Olivia, are on a search to find out the truth behind Olivia's adoption. Their actions set in motion all kinds of events that the young girls have to deal with. At the same time Emily and Sherlock launch their own Search for Emily's Stepmother who disappears. Danger, suspense and mystery "Rock Harbor Lost and Found" has it all. This book is all about family. It also is about secrets and how kept secrets can be dangerous and have the power to destroy if we continue to keep them bottled up. Ms. Coble and Ms. Carroll know exactly how to bring all of that to the story and more. This is a fast-paced read that will keep you flipping pages to keep up with the story. Ms. Coble and Ms. Carroll have done an outstanding job. I am looking forward to more stories about Emily O'Reilly at Rock Harbor.
