The second book in Jody Hedlunds time travel series Waters of Time, Never Leave Me is full of suspense, romance, danger and intrigue. I never imagined that I would be a fan of time travel novels but Jody has me hooked on this series. I love Jodys books. As a result I have expanded my reading genre list past just romance to YA, historical, time travel, etc because I will read anything Jody writes.

The main characters, Ellen and Harrison made appearances in the first book of this series. Their appearance in the first book left you intrigued about them and hoping to find out more about them. Ellen is dying of the same genetic disease that her mother passed away from. Harrison is a paraplegic who has been in a wheelchair since the age of four. Harrison is desperate to find the flasks of holy water to cure both of them. Once he finds the flasks and both of them are free from their ailments adventures awaited them.

I so loved this story and can not wait for the next one. This book grasped me, kept me captivated and intrigued with its suspense and romance. I felt so engaged with the characters and could not wait to see how their stories unfolded.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

The story hinges on finding holy water, but the risks in doing so are tremendous. In the wrong hands, havoc could be wreaked on mankind. In the right hands, great good could be accomplished. But even in the right hands, the overwhelming issue was the scarcity of the water and the question of who would be the most deserving subjects to receive it. One thing seems certain. Ellen is dying from a rare genetic disease that she inherited from her mother, who has already died from the disease. Besides its healing properties, one of the most intriguing aspects of the water is the ability to take a person back in time. Thus, we have a time-slip story that takes us from the present back to 1382, and back to the present. What a ride! I have no idea how I would handle it if I were transported back to 1982, which happens to be an era through which I have already lived. But, to go back to 1382, a totally different time in history from the present, I hardly feel prepared to deal with all the many differences. Besides the fact that there were no modern conveniences and the living conditions even in a castle were so far below the standards of today, the culture was drastically different from what we know. For one thing, women were considered to be property. The tale is quite exciting, suspenseful, danger-filled, and action-packed. I received a copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

Time travel books intrigue me. I was happy to review the first book in this series, and enjoyed it so much that I have been waiting to read this second book in the series.

In my humble opinion, the second book is even better, and an easier read in some ways. The method of time travel and the main characters were already introduced in book #1. The scene of 1382 was already set in 1382 also, so the reader was able to be pulled into the story faster....at least that was the case for me.

Ellen and Harrison were both great and likable characters. This book pulled them from being minor characters in the first book, to being the two main characters in the second book. Harrison especially was an awesome character, and his strengths and character really shone in this book.

There is some suspense and bad guys in the story, which is something I always like. In addition to the suspense angle with the bad guys, there was also a part that was suspenseful of what was going to happen to Harrison and Ellen. One would assume they both survive and get their happy ever after......but where.....in the present, or would they also be consigned to the year 1382 like Ellen's sister? I had my own prediction, and am happy to say I was correct.

All in all, the book was an excellent and enjoyable read that held my interest til I read it from cover to cover in one sitting. Hedlund was a new author to me until last year, and this is just one of several books of hers I have enjoyed. I definitely recommend this book, but the two should defiinitely be read in order.

I was provided a copy of this book for review purposes. All opinions in this review are my own.

Me while reading Never Leave Me: "Wait...what? No! Gasp!!!" and repeat. And that's about all I can say in a review because I can't figure out how to talk about this book without posting spoilers. I will say emphatically that you MUST read the first book, Come Back to Me before opening this one. In fact, you might want to do yourself a favour and read them back to back. :-)

Love the intricacies of the time travel elements and the moral questions they pose. And I absolutely adore the romance! Desperate love lived out desperately. Friends who have never ventured further for all kinds of reasons but as events ramp up so do deep emotions. And there are so many wonderful faith elements in this story which also raise moral questions. So, lots of depth for a reader to lose herself in.

Of course there's intrigue and danger and truly vile villains to add to all the angst and drama and keep a reader frantically turning pages which makes Never Leave Me one unputdownable read.

Never Leave Me by Jody Hedlund is everything I could have hoped for in the next installment of the Waters of Time story! Never Leave Me is truly the clean time-traveling romance I've been waiting for, and I NEED MORE! PLEASE DON'T END THE SERIES YET!!!!

Never Leave Me was so, so good! The author gave just enough backstory that cleared up the fuzzy details I'd forgotten without recapping the entire first book, thus sparing me great annoyance! The pacing moved along a satisfying rate as Harrison and Ellen navigated a slew of unique problems, past and present. Additionally, the past and present settings were equally vibrant and captivating, filled with reunions, daring escapades, and romantic destinations.

Truly, Never Leave Me was a breathtaking story of letting go of fear and embracing life and love! Harrison and Ellen were both afraid of living life. For Ellen, her illness made her not only afraid to love others and thus needing to protect her heart but also reckless with her own physical safety. For Harrison, his paralysis provided a convenient barrier to hide behind, and the excuses to avoid being brave and vulnerable in love continued after his healing. The heart-tugging events that tried and pushed them to open themselves to love captivated me on an emotional level!

Five Stars ~ Never Leave Me by Jody Hedlund is a spellbinding sequel to the Waters of Time story! While Never Leave Me fully completes the Waters of Time story as a duology, I'm not ready to conclude this series. I am desperately hoping for another book!
