I have been told several times these past few months, that this book could not have come out at a better time, and the author admits that this book is the -brain child- of the current Covid pandemic, but the truth of the matter is, loneliness has been present in human life probably since Adam and Eve left the garden of Eden. Loneliness came because of man's broken relationship with God. It is just seems more prevalent because of today's world conditions.
Loneliness is something that everyone experiences, but this author has come to remind us that God is always near to us. We are the one's that have stepped away from that relationship and it is time for us to come back to the One that loves us and always wants to have that fellowship.
Our enemy, the devil would have us believe that other things can fulfil us, but only God can fill that empty hole of loneliness.
This book takes several examples from the book of John, how Jesus renewed and restored people's relationship with God the Father, however my very favorite story is found in John 5 verses 1-15, Jesus heals a lame man by the pool. It always struck me as strange that Jesus would ask a man laying on a pallet bed for 38 years if he wanted to be healed (vrs 6) but Jesus question goes deeper than just a physical healing, if the man is healed it will mean that he will need to get a job and work, to become a member of society again. Worship in the temple, maybe get married and have a family. Was the man ready to do that? Leave a life of begging and rejoin community?
I think that is a question that Jesus asks all of us. Are you ready to be healed from, whatever season you are currently in, and to come back and have a relationship with God and community?
In his usual style, the author bring plenty of stories that the reader can relate to as well as a great deal of scripture. And there are questions in the back that can used for both personal and group study.
I would believe that this book would make a wonderful gift, not only for yourself but for other christian as well as non believers.

Hawk5 Stars Out Of 5You Are Never AlongDecember 11, 2020HawkQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I loved reading this book one chapter a day. It helps to start the day with a good story and thoughts. The relationship between the stories to God's word was excellent. I'm in my second reading, but this time I'm taking time to review the questions in the second half of the book. I'm considering using it in my next men's Bible study., A. great book for teens and up alike. Thanks to the Lucados for writing.
