This is the third edition which includes color photos. The Bible version used in this book is the New King James Version. This book is a wonderful tool to use when studying the Bible. I am a visual learner so I greatly appreciate this book's visual overview of the geograhy, politics, events, people, and themes of the Bible, maps, and charts covering all the books of the Bible in order. There's a variety of charts such as "At A Glance" charts that give a summary of each book, comparison charts, and reference/cross reference charts, etc. I love the layout. Very easy to use and pleasing to the eyes. I especially like the fact that we are permitted to copy the charts and maps in this book for our personal use or for use by study groups. It became such a valuable resource in our homeschool. It helps make the Bible come alive and exciting. It's a book that will be used over and over again. I highly recommend this book.~I received this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers as part of their book review bloggers program.

Chock full of outlines, charts, pictures, and maps, Nelsons Complete Book of Bible Maps and Charts is a fantastic visual Bible study resource. My favorite part: how the book is organized. The book is divided into Old Testament and New Testament and then each book of the Bible is given its own chapter. Having the book set up in the same order as the Bible makes research super simple. If youre studying Nehemiah, you dont have to flip through pages and pages of maps to find what Jerusalem looked like in his time. Find Nehemiah in the index and then youll have all kinds of Nehemiah information at your fingertips.Author, dates, outlines, timelines, historical background Another great part of Nelsons Complete Book of Bible Maps and Charts: COLOR maps! These maps (as well as all of the other charts and timelines) are reproducible for use in a class or Bible study setting. Also, you can download free .pdf versions of all of the maps and charts at Thomasnelson.com/MapsAndCharts.I am a visual learner, so I really appreciate Nelsons Complete Book of Bible Maps and Charts. Having so much information all in one book is an invaluable resource for any Bible student.***Check out more book reviews on my blog: thecreativesideofsteph DOT blogspot DOT com

Sometimes when I study my Bible, I wish I knew more about biblical history. I wonder about the Bibles authors, and I try to understand specifically where in our modern world certain Bible events happened. So, when I had the opportunity to review The Third Edition of Nelson's Complete Book of Bible Maps & Charts, I jumped at the chance. Im glad that I did, because this excellent reference book has become my most used Bible study guide. The maps and charts exceeded my expectations. They are beautifully illustrated and easy to understand. Best of all, they go beyond the basics. ( the journey of the Ark of the Covenant, the floor plan of Herods temple, etc.)After you buy the book, you can go to the Thomas Nelson web site and download a free copy of the charts and maps for your non-commercial use. What a great idea for bible study groups and Sunday school classes! All of the material is presented in a style that is interesting and easy to read. Along with the helpful visual aids, Nelson's Complete Book of Bible Maps & Charts includes a brief overview of each book of the Bible, its possible author(s), an outline of the book and related dates, and its theme and literary structure. Readers will also find historical articles providing insight into Bible times. This 500-page softcover book is an indispensable resource guide, perfect for Bible study and simple enough to use in a homeschool curriculum. The average retail price of around $14 is a bargain, especially because it includes the free downloads.I highly recommend that you add The Third Edition of Nelson's Complete Book of Bible Maps & Charts to your home library. It is one of those reference books that won't stay on the shelf gathering dust.Thank you to Thomas Nelson's BookSneeze program for providing a free review copy of this book.

This book is a wonderful resource to have on hand wheather you need it to study for a Sunday school lesson or a personal Bible study. The charts were extremely good. I think there is a chart in there for just about everything, from the chronology of Israel and the Pentateuch, to the pagan gods of Egypt and the ten plagues, to the kings of Israel, up through the seven churches in the book of Revelation. The charts are very detailed, easy to read, and packed with information. The organization of this book is also at a premium. It divides the books of the Bible into their catagories (Historical, Poetic,...etc.) then into the individual books. Also included are breath-taking real-life photos of the Holy Land, and detailed maps. The best part is that every map and chart is reproducible. This book will have you preparing lessons like a seasoned veteran from the very start.
