Nelson's Biblical Cyclopedic Index has proven to be an excellent resource in Bible study and sermon preparation. I enjoyed this tool as part of The Open Bible study bible I had, but it's nice to have it in a stand-alone format. This book is essentially an alphabetical subject index for the Bible, and as such should work well when studying with any Bible translation. This book is an asset for anyone preparing sermons, Bible studies, or Sunday School, or even for someone who regularly encounters questions as an active witness for Christ.
I found the book very easy to use, and fairly comprehensive. The organization of the book makes sense, and includes names and place names, as well as ample references and examples. There are also Word-studies scattered through the book that are also succinct, but helpful. The typeface is easy to read, although the print on my copy was very small. There is also a helpful guide in the front of the book that illustrates how to get the best use out of this reference tool. I can highly recommend this reference book for any student of the Bible.

I bought this as a gift and may buy one for myself. The old NASB Open Bible used to have a very similar cyclopedic index in the front. Obviously not as lengthy as this book but it was rather impressive. They took it out and many are disappointed that we have to buy a separate book to get a good reference.
This makes a nice gift and is small enough to fit in a med-large pocketbk.
This is one of the most helpful books I have ever had. We were using it in a Bible Study last week, and found everything we needed. I love the size. The big concordance is not as easy to use, and we found everything that was necessary for your study in this book.
I chose this Nelsonôs Biblical Cyclopedic Index, which I wanted to give to my husband. But at the end I think, we will use it both :-)
Whole book is a great tool for finding perfect verses in the Bible. Everything is in Alphabetical Order so everthing is easy and quickly to find. Individual words are sorted according to their importance so itôs not difficult to navigate in the Bible and find the right verses.
I tried it to use it. I made wedding card for my friends and I wanted to use some nice verses from the Bible. I know that famous part is in 1.Corinthians, but I wanted to see if I find something else for use. So I found word Love. There is a small Word Study with greek translation.
Next you find unit like Love-Christian with subheads "Toward God", "Toward Christ", "Toward others" where you can find simple description and link to right verse. Next unit was Love-Christ with subheads "Objects of", "Described as", "Expressions of". Another unit was Love of God with subheads "Objects of", "Described as" and "As seen in beliversôs". And at the end is Love, physical.
So, if I looked for right verse for my card, I went this way: Love Christian - Toward others - described in details - 1.Cor.13:1-13.
I like it and this book is really good tool for Bible study. For me and also for you.
