SelenaFairmont, WVAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent Homeschool ResourceAugust 7, 2012SelenaFairmont, WVAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5If you have ever felt overwhelmed with your attempt at recreating public school in your home (whether you intended to do this or did it subconsciously), this wonderful book will bring you freedom. Robin Sampson does fill the back of the book with scope and sequence check lists for K-8 in the areas of Lang Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, and some about State History, which are great. But the main focus of this book is on God and having Him as the core of your teaching philosophy. The author describes the Heart of Wisdom approach, using the Charlotte Mason model, and unit studies are explained well. Also included are: a chronological Bible reading list; Dolch Sight Words list; and evaluation forms for Spiritual Fruits, Work and Study Habits, Attitude, Responsibility and Character Traits. This is truly a wealth of information for Christian homeschooling families.
