Nicole SAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Good startMarch 18, 2011Nicole SAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Necessary Endings: The Employees, Businesses, and Relationships That All of Us Have to Give Up in Order to Move Forward.I think that this is an excellent premise for a book. The topic is very needed and the way the content is addressed is important. I think that there needs to be a sequel book written titled "Unnecessary Endings." There needs to be a thorough, concise book to address the fact that often Christians, especially in our present culture, end relationships and commitments far too quickly and easily. It's a huge problem that, so often, Christians don't know when to hang in with a relationship and dedicate themselves to working out a problem relationship. There are often wounds and emotions buried deeply (usually from childhood) within many people that hinder them, unknowingly, from being able to stay in and work on painful, troubled relationships. If these wounds were addressed, it could mean the beginning of a new era of healing and healthy relationships for people. This is a lesson that goes so easily unlearned because so many people don't even realize that there is a need to relate differently or that there is another way to live. There is much more hope and promise for relationships than most people realize or understand.

Some endings happen without planning; other endings need to be initiated. Dr. Cloud writes about endings we need to choose in our professional and personal lives and why those endings are necessary. The chapter on "Wise People, Foolish People, and Evil People" is worth the cost of the entire book. Dr. Cloud does an incredible job of equipping the reader in the areas of identifying necessary endings, knowing when and how to negotiate necessary changes in behavior, and following through on decisions to end relationships (when necessary). I consider these to be essential life skills, and Dr. Cloud has covered them well.

Jo AnnLynchburg, VAAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Anything by Dr. Cloud is great!March 17, 2011Jo AnnLynchburg, VAAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Necessary Endings: The Employees, Businesses, and Relationships That All of Us Have to Give Up in Order to Move Forward. In the past, I have experienced many necessary endings. Dr. Cloud only confirms what I have found to be true. Many endings are like a snake shedding its old skin - breaking through to new experiences and getting out of ruts. I have always found endings to be new beginnings in disguise - a must in order to get out of our comfort zones and experience God in new ways! Dr. Cloud has no equal in my opinion!
