I have bought a number of these short books to hand out to family and friends. After reading Eric Metaxis' Bonhoeffer in 2015 I was shocked at how many parallels there were between pre-Nazi Germany and the United States, here we are 5/6 years later and it's only gotten worse. While Lutzer wrote this book in 2010, it seems more applicable since 2020 hit and the Left has endeavored on an all out assault on our freedom. The 7 Lessons that Lutzer write's about were appropriate back in 2010, but in 2020 and following they are absolutely essential for every believer to understand the tactics being used to push their aggressive Marxism and Fascism into every corner of the USA. Having grown up in the USA I am shocked at what the Left has been able to accomplish in the past 20 or so years, they have been effective in dismantling the Judeo-Christian values upon which our nation was founded and they have done so using many of the tactics identified in "When A Nation Forgets God".

This book is pretty short and a very easy read, being my first book by Erwin Lutzer I found myself engaged and enjoying his writing style.

It appears that much of this "prophetic" book--despite the publishing date of 2016--was written in or prior to 2010. Given that fact, it is truly frightening to see how much further down the path to secular fascism America has slipped by 2021. A number of the scary, but somewhat far-fetched, possibilities mentioned in the book have now fully metastasized and are spreading throughout our society as I write (despite the fact that only a very small percentage of secular fanatics support such fringe ideologies)... The book is well worth reading to consider and understand not only the example of Nazi Germany, but to consider how we might prevent such secular fascism from fully destroying our country moving ahead.

Erwin Lutzer is an incredible Christian author. It is a clear and factual documentation of the events of Nazi Germany. This book is so important that I bought several copies for family and friends.

The point is made clearly several times in the book that America is not Nazi Germany. Clear parallels of what was happening in Germany are happening in America. This book paints a clear picture of what we as Christians should be doing in America to avoid the same mistakes that can lead to a similar downfall.
