I've been a pastor for 40 yrs. I have used just about all translations in all flavors, but had used the ESV exclusively. Three years ago I took on a new church who used the NASB95 edition as their pew bible ~ so I decided to get a copy. I found this Preachers Bible which was marked down 1/2 price so I jumped. Best decision I've ever made. As a mass produced Bible from China (had to bite the bullet on that one) this is one of the best Bibles I've had. The leatherflex cover is just as good (if not better) than a regular leather cover. The font is extremely readable, the type/font settings are beautiful, and it is Smythe sewn and lays flat at Genesis and Revelation. Paper is adequate ~ I don't write or mark my Bibles so am not sure about bleed through with pen or marker. There are no red letters but not a game changer for me. There are a few footnotes, but no other distractions (cross references, et.al.). There is no concordance but in today's world is not needed. The 1995 text is a huge upgrade from the first editions of the NASB (which is what we were required to use in seminary). I'm finding this 1995 text a perfect balance (for me) of the KJV/ASV and the modern dynamic translations (NIV, NLB). This is a great buy, and you won't be disappointed. And I say that as one who is EXTREMELY particular about his Bible for pulpit use.

The thicker paper and line matching are great. There is very little ghosting. The Goat skin cover is very nice. The paper is also slightly matte and not as reflective as some others so that it is easier to read. The only issue was that the first and last liner page were too stiff so that the Bible would not open well toward either end. I had to bend those pages and kink them a bit so that the Bible would lay open properly at the beginning and end. The red titles and verse numbers add a really nice touch. I highly recommend this Bible.

Wonderful Bible. Better than expected. I would have liked wider margins but there

is still room to write especially on bottom of pages.

I originally brought an imperfect imprint of this Bible at I discounted rate. When I received the Bible, the smell of the goatskin cover made me nauseous. I returned for a unblemished copy and the smell was still the same! This led me to returning the Bible. The edge-lining made the Bible a little stiff and, because the Bible did not have any card stock like pages in the font or back, it would take a while to lay flat. The only thing I liked about this Bible was that it contained the words of Christ in black text color. Also, the comfort print was a little small for my aging eyes. I can read it well sitting, but for a tall preacher like myself standing at a little pulpit, I would probably squint at my text. Zondervan should consider reprinting this Bible at a 10.5 of 11 font and adding some additional features such as: a small topical concordance, maps, full NASB translator's notes, cross references directing the reader to parallel passages as well as Old Testament Passages quoted in the New Testament. Additionally, it would be nice to add a few blank pages in the back, plus a few charts or articles that you can find in a good minister's Bible or reference Bible. This Bible could also use slightly more space in the margins. It just seem like I was purchasing a text Bible with a nice cover (except for the smell) and descent paper. The Side Column Reference (SCR) Bible has better features at a similar price. I also wouldn't mind if the Bible was a little bigger (but not as big as the SCR), as long as it had more features to make it more of an all-around Bible to be used in the preaching and teaching ministry of a pastor or lay minister.
