Namesake is a six-week Bible study that explores the transformational power of God through the stories of people in the Bible who met God and whose lives and names were changed forever. This leader guide contains six session-plan outlines plus leader helps for facilitating a group. Each session outline provides leader preparation material, group activities and discussion questions related to the DVD teaching segment and weekly readings, and suggestions or sample prayers for a closing prayer time.

Each week focuses on the story of a different biblical character or characters: Abraham and Sarah, Jacob, Naomi, Daniel, Peter. and the woman caught in adultery. Jessica LaGrone is Dean of the Chapel at Asbury Theological Seminary and an acclaimed pastor, teacher, and speaker who enjoys leading retreats and events throughout the United States. She previously served as Pastor of Creative Ministries at The Woodlands United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. She is the author of the Set Apart: Holy Habits of Prophets and Kings, Broken and Blessed: How God Changed the World Through One Imperfect Family, and Namesake: When God Rewrites Your Story Bible studies and Broken & Blessed book. She and her husband, Jim, have two young children and live in Wilmore, Kentucky.
