Mysterious Seed is a compilation of more than 133 powerful daily devotional-size teachings designed to move you forward in your spiritual life. Rather than vague concepts and principles, well-known author Bob Mumford plants specific seeds that will grow within the serious believer. Seeds include getting to know Gods seven strands of DNA: compassion, grace, slow to anger, mercy, truth, faithfulness, and forgiveness.
Bob Mumford is a dynamic Bible teacher with a unique and powerful gift for imparting the Word of God. Since 1954, thousands of Christians worldwide have attributed their spiritual growth and determination to follow Jesus Christ to his prophetic teaching, helping them understand Father God and His Kingdom. His numerous writings have been translated into many different languages.
- "Once again Bob demonstrates his uncanny ability to simplify the complex, to explain the mysterious, to bring the Scriptures alive in a way only
he can do. This important work reflects the wisdom and maturity of a half century of teaching and preaching. Colonel V. Doner, president, Childrens Hunger Relief Fund
- "This is an excellent book in which to really get to grips with the new self. God is not dealing with our old nature; its dead. He seeks rather to
establish our righteousness and our new creation capacity to be as wonderful as Jesus." Graham Cooke
grace5 Stars Out Of 5Planting Seeds to Reap a Harvest of God's LoveJanuary 28, 2012graceQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is a devotional book that plants seeds of God's Word in your heart to bear a harvest of agape love. It is aimed at changing you from the inside out. Our focus many times in Christianity is to look good outwardly, but God looks at our hearts. This book explains how God's Word contains what is necessary to transform us into the image of Christ from the inside out.
God's seed contains the power of an indestructible life. The author speaks of how a maple seed fell in the crack of the sidewalk. Eventually the seed grew until the whole sidewalk was pushed up. Nothing could stop the seed from breaking through the concrete. This is encouraging for Christians whose hearts have grown hard through warfare and disappointments. God's seed is still there even when it doesn't seem like it is.
The author explained how we have to take our eyes off of the person and circumstances and put our eyes on the seed. We need to cultivate the seed that has been planted in our own and others' hearts. He talks about how all ministry is seed cultivation. The eternal seed is the only thing that can bear fruit that will remain.
The author explains how when we abide in Christ and cultivate the eternal seed the fruit we bear will be agape. When we depart from Christ the fruit we bear is fleshly. It is only the eternal seed that can bear eternal fruit, Agape (God's love). The author's urgent concern is to present the Agape paradigm as the needed remedy for the healing needed in the church so that the church can in turn bring healing to the world.
This book has 133 daily devotional readings that will plant seeds to take the reader from eros (self-centered) love to agape (giving) love.

Each reading contains applications which will impact the spiritual, physical, and emotional life of the reader.
I appreciate the format of the book which encourages reflection and introspection aimed at helping the reader take the proactive steps necessary for dynamic Christian living drawing on the power and resources of God's DNA within us. Bible teacher and best-selling author Bob Mumford uses the analogy of the seed to demonstrate the concept maturing in the Father's love.
Mumford draws on well selected Biblical passages, uses diagrams and charts, as well as his own observations, experiences, and conclusions to help the reader focus on Christ's teaching, his promises, scriptural concepts, and principles for building a relationship of intimacy with God.
At the end of each chapter are straight forward "Thoughts and Questions" used in the anticipation of provoking deep and inspiring introspection on the part of the reader and to encourage a more meaningful relationship with God the Father.
Mumford has a unique gift for getting right to the essence of a concept or life principle. Through simple stories and word pictures he sows seeds with the purpose of reaping a harvest as the seed is received, cultivated and nurtured. He writes to help the reader, expand the capacity to be loved and to expand their capacity to love God as he desires to be loved.
