What a great book. The connections between the Old Testament and New Testament is very exciting. The center has and is always Jesus Christ.

Rabbi Sobel has many good observations connecting the history and people of the Hebrew Bible with the Messiah. I liked that and found it enriching.

I found it annoying, however, how he persistently wants to use the fact that Hebrew letters have numeric value to to try and prove ideas. Example on page 31: "the tree" (HaEitz) has the numeric value of 165. So does "curse" (kelalah) and"deliver him" (pedaeihu). "Yeshua died on the tree (165) to free us from the curse (165) ... could be delivered (165)... " This particular sentence uses 6 phrases with the value of 165. I personally see little value in adding up the numeric value of words

    A Fresh Perspective!

    Pastor Mark
I've spent my whole life in Church and my entire career in full-time ministry. I know first-hand just how easy it is to grow familiar with the faith (in all the worst ways). Sometimes we need a shock to the system to remind us that we'll never stop being amazed by our unsearchable God!

Enter: Rabbi Jason Sobel and Mysteries of the Messiah. His sincerity and passion are obvious. This work is uncompromising in its intensity and well-worth the time (go slowly). You will be awakened to the wealth of revelation that's been sitting beneath the surface of the Bible's pages all along. Dive in today!

    Bridges the Gap Beautifully
    March 22, 2021
I found this book enlightening. I have read and re-read my Bible many times, but this book helped bridge the gap with additional information I just never had. Using original Hebrew, numeric values, and Jewish tradition, in combination with scripture, Rabbi Sobbel opened my eyes to the deeper understanding as Moses as the first Messiah. Beautifully knitting together the Old and New Testaments, we are able to see more clearly the work of Christ as it relates to the Old Testament and the fulfillment of God's promise. As a Christian, I tend to lean heavily into the gospel while the Old Testament has been more difficult to understand. This book has clarified much of that mystery for me. Rabbi Sobbel has done a wonderful job educating his reader and unraveling some of the mysteries. I have recommended this book to my Sunday School group.
