Everybody practices self talk, but few take the time to actually think about the things we say to ourselves. Are they even true? Many of our thoughts are not true; it's based on lies that can keep us from entering fully into the life God wants us to enjoy. When we take the time to be sure our thoughts line up with the truth of God's Word, we can experience true freedom and joy.
In Me, Myself, & Lies, Jennifer Rothschild helps you replace the lies with truth. With wisdom and authenticity, she helps you overcome a lifetime of damaging self-talk by replacing it with godly and biblical soul-talk. At the end of each chapter are Soul-Talk Questions to Ponder, Passages to Ponder, and a peek into the thought closets of some popular authors and speakers.

Joanne Howard5 Stars Out Of 5"Me, Myself & Lies" and My Thought ClosetMay 4, 2017Joanne HowardQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Having just finished "Me, Myself & Lies" it's made me think about my "thought closet." In this book Jennifer challenges us to think about what is contained in this "thought closet." Some things on the shelves may need cleaning and she presents ways to evaluate what's there and what we might consider replacing or moving around. The ultimate goal is "to be well with my soul." If our closet is filled with God, we will feel better about ourselves and will feel His direction. She gives many personal examples to relate to and many scriptural directions to assist with change. Also she's included several famous friends' feelings about their "thought closets" which gives you more to contemplate. The book has been updated from a Bible Study and has that kind of feel to it. There is an edition for young women and presenting these ideas early would be very useful. I'd recommend this book to help you look at yourself and see if you can improve "your thought closet" and end up being at peace and happier.
Kshttlwrth5 Stars Out Of 5Every woman (and man) should read this beautiful heartfelt bookMay 1, 2017KshttlwrthQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0Jennifer Rothschild's new book, 'Me, Myself & Lies' is a priceless treasure. Every woman (and man) should read this beautiful heartfelt book. We have all had negative thoughts about ourselves. We would never think of speaking these negative thoughts to someone else, so why are we saying them to ourselves? 'Me, Myself & Lies' walks us through weeding out our "thought closet". Step by step Jennifer encourages us to getting rid of those negative thoughts and replacing them with positive truth, God's truth. Her personal stories and great sense of humor made me feel as if I was sitting at her table having a coffee and chatting about life. Jennifer is truly a blessing and many will be encouraged, blessed and changed by this book! Jennifer also wrote a teen version of this book called 'Me, Myself & Lies for Young Women'. This would be a great gift for any young lady around the ages of 12 to 18.

Jennifer has put her finger on the problem of listening to that whispered voice inside our minds that tells us we are stupid, not enough, worthless, and I could go on. When we listen, repeat, and allow our spirits to agree with those words, we become defeated. This scripturally based book cleverly uses the concept of a closet for our thoughts. Every closet needs cleaning out occasionally and Jennifer shows us how to clean out our thought closets to allow some new thoughts to enterthe thoughts God has toward us. The subject matter is very biblical in its approach and is not a self-help book but a God help us book! You will be very glad you purchased Me, Myself, and Lies and will soon be recommending it to others.

Jennifer gives very practical examples of things we should say to ourselves. She doesn't just point out what is wrong with our thinking but gives correct thoughts to replace the incorrect thoughts (lies!). She also shares many personal stories, some of which are quite hilarious! When you read this book, you WILL laugh and learn, and Jennifer's prayer for you is that you change and grow.
