Didn't think I would like a book about black people having issues related to homosexuality. It is written with such openness....how the wife reacts is so real. Her journey into healing in the Lord is amazing. Her musician husband's journey is told just as transparently, his struggles with his childhood experiences, and his road to complete healing is so encouraging. I just wish I could find a book like this about how to help an adult son struggling with bi-sexuality and a verbally/emotionally abusive relationship. How the family can help him ...when he says he WANTS to stay and feels he has no choice. This book really did show me some things about learning to love the person when you don't understand their choices. God is still in charge, learn to trust Him....that is the book's message to me.
Sherry Lewis has bravely taken a sensitive subject, a controversial subject, a heartbreaking subject and woven a tale that will make every reader examine her own heart. Sherry has the gift of writing fiction that makes you think. The main thread of the story is the devastation of a young Christian woman who discovers her husband is bisexual, something she never knew until she came home and found her husband cheating on her with another man. Another thread is the corruption in this young couples church. Corruption in high places. Corruption in the very people who should be there to help them, to protect them.My Soul Cries out is a must read. I highly recommend it.
This book is wonderful it will have you mind from the first page to the last. It deals with daily issues that we have now in our every day lives. Very romantic and very, very real. Never leaving GOD out and showing us that all things are possible if and only you keep the faith. I also admire the true meaning of friendship thru out the whole book by keeping all things real. By the end you feel revived and a part of the family. We will be reading more from Sherri L.
