Publisher's Description

My Pajama Bible will help toddlers become familiar with 30 well-known Bible stories from the Old and New Testaments. It's a book that busy parents will enjoy using, because it will make bedtime a pleasant time for their little ones, who will look forward to hearing their favorite stories after they get their pajamas on. Includes a Table of Contents listing the story titles with Scripture references. The chunky board book format makes it easy for little ones to hold, and the colorful illustrations and rhyming stories are sure to capture the imagination of little ones.

The 30 stories found in My Pajama Bible by Andy Holmes are designed to hold the interest of children 2 - 4 years old or to help young readers practice their word recognition. The pages are very thick (for youngsters who still gnaw everything in sight) and are arrayed with brightly colored drawings of animals, kings, shepherds, infants, carpenters, farmers, and prophets. Each double page also has a drawing around the edge that shows a modern day child dressed in pajamas and listening to the story. The children are diverse in sex, race, and ethnicity.

Although the stories are not heavily into doctrinal messages, they actually are biblically accurate.

The two-part story of the creation of and fall of Adam and Eve talks about the sadness of disobeying God and the consequences of such actions. The two-part story of the saving of baby Moses and his later power to part the Red Sea is exciting and easy to follow. Great heroes of the Bible are focused on, including David, Daniel, Esther, Joshua, and Samson. The narratives are told as quatrain rhymes (somewhat stitled, but often amusing) that can be repeated by youngsters.

The final dozen entries focus on the life and teachings of Jesus, including pictorial renderings of people talked about in the parables, as well as the life of Christ from infant to resurrection. This 63 page book is delightfully illustrated by Tim O'Connor . It's the kind of book that can set on the bedside table for many evenings of reading pleasure for children and parents. -- Dr. Dennis E. Hensley,

This book is probably ok for very young children. It has cardboard pages with very little written on them. Would return but I would lose $ since CBD requires buyer to pay return postage.

I needed a book to read to my daughter before she goes to sleep. This book was all I expected it has thick pages so she can't rip them when I'm not looking. The book has short but sweet readings to keep her attention. This book has been a blessing and it will be a blessing in you house.
