The stories are retold by Mary Hollingsworth. My Little Bible is a cushioned hard cover book for children, especially toddlers and preschoolers. It has 42 short stories from the Bible, both the Old Testament and the New Testament. Each story has a cute picture to go with it as well as a question or activity for the child to interact with the reader. The books starts with Genesis and goes through Revelations and includes such stories as Daniel in the lions den, Jerichos walls falling down, Jonah and the whale, Jesus birth, Zacchaeus, as well as obeying your parents, and loving and helping others.
This is a cute book, it is the perfect size for little children. The stories are perfect for little ones who dont like to sit long. The cute, colorful pictures and interaction suggestions will help engage the child to help remember the story. The stories in this book were some of my childrens favorites when they were little. This is a nice book to have for a child to take to church, so they can learn to carry a bible at a young age. It is a great book to read to a child at prayer time to help teach them about spending time with God. This would make a great gift for a child. I will be recommending this to others and will be using it for gifts.
I received this book free from the publisher through BookLook Bloggers book review blogger program for an honest review.

This book was not exactly what I expected. It is small for little hands which is very nice. When I say small its about half the size of a regular book. It contains 42 Bible Stories. The Bible Stories are very short so that they can keep a toddler or preschoolers focus. They are only around five to six sentences long. I loved how every page had its own Bible story and then an illustration to go with it.
My only complaint with this book is the quality of the inside pages. They seem to be a little thin for small children. The cover feels very sturdy though. In a way this could be a good thing because a Bible has delicate pages and it would be a starting point to teaching your little one to take care of the Bible. It just seemed a little cheap to me.
This book contains stories from the old testament and new. The book starts with the story of Creation and continues with stories about Noah, Daniel, Jonah and more. The second half of the book contains the new testament stories such as Jesus Birth, Zacchaeus, Paul and more.

However, that means that at almost 18-months-old, hes demolished his fair share of books. He loves Bible stories so I when I saw a review copy of My Little Bible (stories retold by Mary Hollingsworth, with illustrations by Diane Le Feyer; published by Tommy Nelson), I pounced on the chance to see if it would be a good book for him.
My Little Bible is a small Bible that is perfect for little hands. Sadly, the pages are somewhat thin and easy to destroy. But, its a good way to remind G to be gentle. Plus, that means hes carrying a bible around, which is a great habit to get into.
It contains a good sample of stories from both the Old Testament and New Testament. Daniel, Noah, Moses, Esther, Jesus and Paul are just some of the people that children will get to know, along with Samson, Solomon and others too. Each story has been condensed to help children understand it and for the most part the stories are well told. There are a few stories that contain words or phrases that dont align with my interpretations of the particular parts of Scripture.
I really love the illustrations in My Little Bible. Diane Le Feyer really manages to capture a childlike view of the bible in a colorful and slightly whimsical way. I especially love the cover art with children of all colors with Jesus.
G loves the question at the end of each story. My mommy heart swells with joy every time I think of the privilege of getting to talk about the Bible with my little guy. Overall, My Little Bible is a great Bible to keep your toddler or preschooler entertained and learning at the same time.
(I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review, all opinions are my own.)
CherylProspect,KYAge: 45-54Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Bible stories for little handsApril 26, 2016CherylProspect,KYAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4Forty-two of the best loved and most recognized Bible stories from both the New and Old Testaments are retold by Mary Hollingsworth, each taking up no more than a page and consisting of four or five sentences to hold even the youngest child's attention. All have an illustration chosen just for that story and created by Diane LeFeyer. Each story is followed by a simple question or request such as "how many lions are there?", "point to the crown", and "what can you share?" and the Biblical reference that the summary is taken from so that older readers can dig a bit deeper into the story.
There are perhaps hundreds of children's Bible story books so what exactly makes this one unique? Many are board books which are perfect for little hands to turn the pages. Some have only about a dozen stories to this volume's 42. I think the thing I like best about this particular book is its size and weight. Even the smallest of children could hold on and carry their own little Bible. Even I was surprise by how small it was when it came but it was well thought out by the publisher and perfect for preschoolers and toddlers. Very affordably priced as well.
I did receive this book free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review and was in no way obligated to write a positive one.

It's literally little, the same size as the iPhone 6 plus (perfect size for little hands). This Bible has both old and new testament stories that are easy for little ones to understand and brief enough for parents to use as devotionals before bedtime. Very sweet illustrations for each 1 page story, references listed for each story, and a follow up question to help reinforce the story. My 2 year old was very excited to receive this Bible. I would recommend it for all preschoolers.
